I had been tested twice in the past for Lyme by my PCP and was negative then I saw a LMD and I was Igenex positive for Lyme in June and have been on antibiotics of one kind or another since. Would I now show Lyme positive by CDC standards? I'm curious as LMD's will put you on antibiotics and re-test to try to get a positive result. Liz

You may or you may not end up showing positive enough for a positive from CDC. But why does it matter? If you were IgeneX positive that means you're positive!
I wasn't positive with IgeneX (only one band) or by crappy Quest or LabCorp Western Blots. So you're lucky to have gotten a positive at all! I'd take it and be happy you got an answer.
I don't see a reason to test again?

Most LLMD's will want to try to get a positive to support a clinical diagnosis. But they won't necessarily try to get a CDC positive, just a positive Lyme specific band.

I would leave it alone. You wouldn't want the opposite to happen, allowing a reason for your insurance company to deny payment for your treatment.
An Igenex Positive is as good as gold. CDC + is pretty hard to come by.

My daughter & I are both Igenex positive - positive on band 31 & 34 - which Igenex interprets to mean that it is an old, chronic infection. I can't see that changing with treatment. It would still be 27 years old!
