Forgive me if this topic is somewhere, I have great difficulty weeding through past posts.

I've had Lyme for many years & been on various treatments. Recently, I developed a new symptom. I was attempting to peel potatoes (a big project for me, though it doesn't seem that way), and they kept dropping out of my hands.

A couple days later, I picked up a plate, and it slipped and shattered. A few days later, I had trouble eating flatbread - it kept slipping through my fingers.

I went to see a physical therapist who saw a problem, but not the solution. Now my hands and sometimes arms are buzzing.

I thought it might be the IV Flagyl I was on. But, I stopped it last week, and the buzzing has only gotten more frequent.

Anyone have any ideas? Yes, I did ask my Lyme doc, and he didn't have any thoughts, but then, he didn't have any thoughts on why I vomited for 6 weeks, so...

It can be a symptom of Lyme disease, called paresthesia, which can include numbness, tingling, "pins and needles" feeling, or buzzing, and may include weakness.

I have had that. I think i takes longer to clear the flagyl and I would focus on clearing the die-off. Detoxing is the hardest part for me.

When a sx gets worse, even if I have to stop the abx, I know I am on the right track. Sometimes it means coming at it a different way.

Stay with supporting the body to clear it. This is a rigorous path. We are warriors.

Hello-

This was one of my main symptoms before being diagnosed.

It resolved on tetracycline. I am currently on zithromax and ceftin and my arms are KILLING me!
Especially my forearms.

This is making it difficult to grip things like knives, forks, etc and therefore, when I get too fatigued I drop things.

As far as I know it is most likely related to the nerves in th arms, neck, etc which are affected by the lyme disease.

I would contact your dr. and tell them about the new symptom and see what they say.

Good Luck.

I got peripheral neuropathy from Flagyl, and it got a lot WORSE for over a week after stopping. I thought it was just going to keep getting worse but a few days ago it turned around and started getting better. That's probably what's happening with you.
