I just returned from an appointment with my LLMD. I was diagnosed with Lyme about ten months ago (after probably contracting the disease twenty years ago). Since that time, I have been taking a variety of antibiotics. I have seen no noticeable improvement.
Most recently (April), after re-testing, I was diagnosed with Babesia. I have been taking Mepron, along with Zith for about three weeks.
In addition to the antibiotics, from the start (June, '07), I have been taking a variety of supplements, and following a gluten-free diet. I also started chelation about six weeks ago.
During the visit with my LLMD, she mentioned that we may want to discuss IV antibiotics during my next visit. I would much prefer not to pursue IV due to the risks.
I am just seeking feedback on the possible use of IV antibiotics in my case. I am currently working--my symptoms are annoying and exhausting but not debilitating. However, I have seen no progress in treatment.
Any thoughts?

I would try IM Bicillin first especially if you have reservations about IV.
I did IV first and the worry about it made me a basket case, probably made the Lyme worse too, as stress does this.
IM Bicillin is nicer than IV for me and I am seeing some improvements as well.
everyone is different, just my opinion.
