Well, I've searched and searched and can't find anyone in RI who does kinesiology much less ART. [Frown]

I have found a practice that utilizes the Bowen Technique which really has nothing to do with kinesiology or ART but I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone had found it efficacious.

Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks! [Smile]

*Edit*--I haven't just looked in RI--I can't seem to find anyone in nearby Mass or CT either. Very frustrating as this is something I'd really like to try.

I had several sessions done. It definitely seemed to do something and helped with the pain a bit. But it became to costly for me to do weekly. Very gentle technique but quite profound.

Mike--no, I don't think so. I'd greatly appreciate anything you have on kinesiology or ART in the RI/CT/MA area. Send away! [Smile]

Alison--thanks for the input. [Smile] The holistic center that offers this is $$$ so I didn't want to explore it without finding out if it had helped anyone dealing with a tbd. Glad that it seemed to offer you some relief!

I did a series of sessions several years ago when I was really ill and had just come off of abx.

Bowen works on the nervous system but my nervous system was so messed up that it caused a great deal of pain and misery. For example, after the session in which the practioner worked on my jaw (the practioner barely touches you - certainly nothing invasive) for the first time ever, my jaw locked several hours after the treatment and I experienced tmj for the first time ever. It lasted several weeks and was down right nasty.

I really don't know who does what unless patients report it. I'll give you what I have for any state you wish. Mail me at [email protected]

Hubby had this done once by Dr J W of the Bowen lab in Florida who brought this massage technique to the U.S.

The doc was very surprised when it made hubby's tremors much worse and his heart rate variability tested worse after the treatment. Normally heart rate variability should improve if the nervous system is more in balance between parasympathetic and sympathetic.

At the time of the treatment hubby was being tested for Lyme and tick-borne diseases -- had had no treatment and had been sick about a year.
