Has anyone heard of this book? Better yet, anyone had any expierences with using this book and its treatment methods?
I have yet to purchase it, but am considering it.

I have read the book. I think homeopathy can be helpful but I have not seen it provide significant improvement for chronic Lyme disease alone. It may depend a lot on how much the practitioner has specifically worked with homeopathy and Lyme. There are a couple of practitioners that I would consider personally but are not local. Be well

When I was first diagnosed with chronic lyme I had all the classic symptoms. Migraines, Brain Fog, Shortterm Memory Loss, Stiff Neck and the symptom that sent me for treatment....migratory joint pain.
The doctor I was referred to was an anthesiologist who was also a board certified homeopath. He felt antibiotics were very good for acute illness but not for chronic illness. He also said homeopathy crosses the blood/brain barrier.
Made sense to me since I had been on one abx or another pretty much all my life for strep, bronchitis, tonsilitis, blah, blah, blah. Even a 6 mth round of lyme 10 yrs earlier and still here I sat with chronic lyme.
So, he put me on 13 combination remedies that are actually FDA approved. He said he preferred that to herbs because of the regulation. He knew they had in them what they claimed.
Taking the remedies was very easy and even pleasant. Many are alcohol based and even though I have never been much of a drinker and certainly did not get high on these remedies, I just enjoyed them.
A couple of the remedies were for anxiety and I especially liked them. A couple were specific to Lyme and Coinfections. I did not like them. They were potent and produced quite a herx. Quite a herx.
Within 30 days of starting these remedies, my migraines, memory loss and mental confusion were gone. Clear head and no more headaches. That was 3 yrs ago and I still do not have these symptoms.
What got worse was my joint pain and swelling. Way worse. The doctor being 4 hrs from me was a handicap. I would call his office and they would advise me to cut back on the Lyme specific doses which I did but the damage was done. I feel if I could have run by his office for him to see my swelling it might have changed the treatment approach.
I was so swollen I looked like the Michellin Man and I became very handicapped. I had to quit working. Some days I could not even open the car door much less drive. These were scary times.
Finally I was diagnosed Rheum. Arthritis which was the low point for me.
Research, research, research. I found so many possible causes to RA including Lyme, Leaky Gut, infected root canals, diet.
I found a closer doctor (2 hrs) who is integrative (not a lyme doctor specific) He set about clearing my body and bringing me back to homeostatis (balance). I was so sick when we began. He did not use homeopathy and I have not been on homeopathy since.
One yr later, I was incredibly better. Then bit again and sick all over again. This time I ran for an ILADS LLMD for abx. I felt a recent infection should have antibiotics.
The dr is LLMD and she is rheumatologist. A Godsend for me. Turns out she is also integrative and I like that too. She ran a gene test to determine my ability to detox and turns out it is pretty poor. Let me clarify....the only way I will live very long at all will be to artificially detox the remainder of my life. My ability to produce glutathione which is so necessary for detox and for healthy life is so restricted that out of 6 genes needed, I have 2 that are functioning. This is bad!
I look back on my original treatment of homeopathy and know the only problem with the treatment was my inability to detox the toxins being produced as the homeopathy successfully killed the pathogens. No question about this in my mind! This is why I swelled up like the Michellin Man. I am sure this overload of toxins brought on the RA. I am so sure.
To keep this straight: Dr S was the homeopathic doctor Dr A was the integrative doctor who was closer Dr Z is the LLMD/Rheumatologist.
Dr A gave me monthly IVs of glutathione which was a miracle for me.
Dr Z has also given me IVs of glut whenever possible (she is 3 1/2 hrs away). I always do my best with glutathione.
The gene test revealed I am incapable of eliminating many things from my system including antibiotics, NSAIDS, cigarette smoke, exhaust fumes, plastics.
I want monthly glut for the rest of my life. Additionally, I have extremely good results whenever I eat cruciferous vegetables which aid the body in natural production of glutathione. If you have been lurking here any amount of time, you know I am always talking about diet.
I want a local doctor to administer the glut. WHY CAN'T I GET THIS????????????!!!!!!!!!
Ok, sorry. I digressed to my own personal frustation place. I feel like I live in a medical desert. Nothing integrative in my town.
Bottom line, I am thinking of talking to my LLMD about going back to the homeopathic doctor for treatment while getting heavy duty detox from LLMD. LLMD has pulled me off all abx except doxy 100mg MWF as she says the abx are poison to me. They just accumulate in my body adding to my toxic state.
So, I feel I had a positive homeopathic experience that simply needed the added step of artificial detox to aid in the healing process.
What book are you referring to?

Luvs--I don't know where you are located so I'm just going to ask if Dr. S is in CT? I am looking into a homeopathic doctor in CT who is also a Dr. S.

I've got the book, Melissa, and have read it.
Do you have a basic knowledge of homeopathy? If not, I'm not sure how helpful the book would be to you. However, it is encouraging to read in the book about a number of case reports where homeopathics alone were used to eradicate symptoms of chronic Lyme. And in most cases, serologic testing confirmed that patients no longer had Lyme. Good news is always welcome in Lyme circles.
The `treatment methods' in Peter's book are not necessarily unique, although he has discovered a particular remedy (Aurum-arsenicosum) that has been very helpful in his treatment of many Lyme cases in Germany. But like all homeopaths, he still has to find remedies that fit the particular person he is treating.
I've heard second-hand that one homeopath here in the USA that sort of `specializes' in Lyme has used Peter's Aurum-ars remedy with some of his American patients, and he has not experienced much success with it, so far. That is not terribly surprising, though. Even back in the days of widespread global epidemics, certain homeopathic remedies seemed to be more helpful than others, depending on the geographic region.
I enjoyed the book and glad that I purchased it, but it isn't necessarily a book for the average Lymie. But if you have some knowledge of homeopathy and an above-average interest in homeopathic treatment, go for it! Posted by luvs2ride (Member # 8090) on :

I thought this was a wonderful book with a deep biological and spiritual understanding of lyme disease. However if you want to treat it homeopathically you really have to see a classic homeopath yourself. I tried to convince him to treat me at a distance! but I'd have to make a trip to Germany first to have a consult in person.

My chiropractor and kinesiologist gave me some homeopathic remedies from Deseret Biologicals for Borrelia and Bartonella.
They helped me tremendously, along with other more western-style treatent.
You have to get these remedies from a professional.
Thanks very much for your explanation of your treatment. I found this article on glutathione depletion in CFS patients, that speaks a lot to what you and other Lyme patients seem to experience. Insert "tick-borne infections" where it talks about the resurgence of latent viruses.
His explanation includes the buildup of heavy metals, the need to detox, the help many Lyme patients get from a careful diet (we need to replace depleted nutrients), and backs up Dr. B's assertion that many of us who get very sick were once very physically active.
