I am trying to figure out what lives in the back, slightly above the hip bone and only on the right side.
This area has been real sore for about a week now and doesn't seem to be going away.
I can't seem to find any anatomical charts that show what I am looking for. So, thought one of you smart kiddos would be able to help.
Thanks so much in advance for suggestions that point me in the right direction.

To answer your question...
A very common place for a pinched nerve to affect. One of the most common. Pain can be from mild to severe... constant to on/off.
That would be caused typically from a misalignment of the vertebrae in the lower spine.
If you lay gently forward in a chair and totally relax... then press the low back along the spinal column... from your butt up to just above the waist line.. feeling and pressing (not hard) on each vertebra one at a time on the way up....
You should find a patch of "sore" there... either to the right, left and/or on the actual spinal bone.
This only applies IF I have made a correct guess.
If not.. perhaps a better description would help us figure it out... and do lettuce no.
PS. If you want to know how to fix it... you are gonna have to pay first... however... please don't panic.

Hmmm,
I tried the 'lean over in the chair and feel your spine' thing, and nope, no pain along the spine at all.
The sore area is more to my side along the same line as my navel in the front...but in the back.
Sorry, I know I am not explaining this very well. I think I am over tired.
Other things...much more edema in my feet AND in my hands the last week. HA off and on and increased neuropathy. That's all I can think of right now.
Perhaps it is just sore muscles? The right ribs are a tad sore, but that is commonplace with me.
Yes, a bandaid would be nice. Thanks.
Ralph, I call the place you would rest a kid when holding them, my hip bone. Not sure if that is the correct term or not?

I wanted the choclate ice cream cone.. but YOU jumped in and told her the answer! OH MY!
Looking it over, the pain is fairly close to the Abdominal oblique muscles on the rear view.
Hopefully, that is all this is and it will go away soon.

If the pain is your sacrioliac joint to figure that out, if you can lay on your stomach on the floor and have someone try to raise your leg up as if to touch your butt. It will hurt pretty bad if it's the SI joint.
Try the thermacare heatwraps for lower back. They deliver heat all day, might not take the pain completely away, but will help you be able to move.

Have you had a urine sample screened lately?
Edema could be related to your kidneys, which is what I thought of when you spoke of back flank pain.
Have you ever had a kidney stone?
Just a thought.

you need a good chiroprator willing to work with your condition (lyme)
I have a woman up at my clinic that houses a chiroprator as well and she is just getting better and better with IV's and the chiroprators work.
