yes i did. thanks very much. i live in keller off 377 and can drive straight up into denton and turn right and go down a couple of miles.

Yes, Lymetoo, he is an LLMD, and a fabulous one at that! Please check your info before you post. By stating that Dr. W is not an LLMD, you are preventing some very sick people from receiving treatment from a great doc. He has been treating me since August '07, and I have been COMPLETELY asymptomatic since February. Solely thanks to him!

he is, in fact, a registerd ob gyn MD doctor, and his wife has lyme. his niece, i think, has posted on another board somewhere.
he may not be a registered specific lyme doctor, but hey, he's got to be a hell of a lot better than the person i was seeing.....

Dr.W is a ILADS member, follows Dr. B's protocol, and his whole family, both immediate and extended, have Lyme. His daughter posts here on Lymenet. He attends all the ILADS conferences, and I am living proof of what a outstanding doc he is.
And I was by no means an easy case whatsoever. I had 100++ symptoms when I first saw him, and I also have a cardiac pacemaker that was implanted many years ago for a conduction defect. In fact, I believe I was one of the most difficult cases he has ever had. I am now back to 100% functionally, whereas I was at about 5% last August.
Last I asked, he was only seeing women patients, since he is by trade an OB/Gyn.
I cannot stress enough what an absolutely great doc he is.
After he inserted my PICC, I was the first patient in the history of Denton Regional Hospital to be admitted with Lyme, since he wanted to keep an eye on me for the first few days of my IV therapy.
He is the ONLY doc I have ever known to call "just to check up on me" when I didn't have an appointment scheduled for the next few weeks. He even called me twice while he was on vacation to see how I was doing.
He not only treats this disease, he is very personal and caring about it, since he has lived through it himself. Not only does his family have LD, but so did he. He is very passionate and caring about treating this awful illness.
It is difficult for me to explain just how bad I was before I started seeing him, but my family was trying to figure out who was going to gain custody of my little girl after I died, if that gives any idea.
In fact, my 8 year old daughter became symptomatic shortly after me last year, and I took her in to see Dr. W for some advice, after her pediatrician swore she only had migraines.
As Dr.W was sure she had Lyme, he referred me to another great doc in LA who treats pediatric patients. Sure enough, her Igenex tests came back + for LD and Babs. She is also doing much better. Not quite as well as I, but her treatment is a few months behind mine. And I would surely be taking her to Dr. W if he treated kids. If there is anyone who is looking for an LLMD in TX, he is the one. I'd trust him with my life.

Today the news came that my two year old daughter tested positive for Lyme via Igenex.
He called me personally to let me know the bad news although his office is closed on Friday.
He even talked to me about how I was feeling and increased my dose of flagyl over the phone. He didn't have to give me the time of day...but he did.
Just wanted to shine a light on him. I know he isn't as well known as some doctors out there. But I really trust him. He is pumped up about fighting this horrible disease and believes in me as a patient. Together we work well together.

Thanks, Lymetoo. I would hate to see anyone try to defame Dr.W, especially after all he has done for me. And what I am sure he does for all his LD patients.
I did notice, however, that when people post about seeking a doctor in TX, you always advise them that they will have to leave the state to find a decent LLMD. That is just not the case, at least for females.
And the only reason he doesn't treat males is because he is an OB doc, and is trying not to raise eyebrows with the skeptic headhunters with the Texas Medical Board, who have already run more than a few LLMDs out of atate.
Dr. W really is a wonderful doc, and he deserves all the respect and recognition the other well-known LLMDs on this board get. Posted by echostef (Member # 12867) on :

Well, he was new ... and I hadn't heard much about him. Wasn't sure how qualified he was in order to recommend him.
Also, I have experience with the dr in MO since that is where I live now.
I'm glad you gals are getting good results.
Now we need a dr there for men!!

Did someone at his office tell you that?
That would be great, if he was, but I remember his nurse telling me he only saw females.
Anyway, let me know if that changed so I don't send anyone the wrong information.
I'll also call the office on Monday and check.
Good luck with your appointment! So glad you are going to see him. I've never met one of his patients who doesn't love him...he's outstanding. His office staff is very good, too.
He is also GREAT about returning your phone calls, calling in new prescriptions without making you schedule and appointment, and, since he has had Lyme, never questions the need for STRONG painkillers when you need them. Just a few of his many, many attributes.
Thank goodness there are still honest, caring docs out there who care about their patients instead of just their paychecks.

I'm the one who reported all that information to Randi including patient reports and direct phone conversations. Yes he's seeing male patients as well, assuming they haven't changed their policy since May 14th when a male patient called his office asking if he could see the doctor specifically for Chronic Lyme Disease. Here is the patients report.
[05-14-08] Patient Report: "I spoke to a gal in the office and was pretty straight forward. I told her i was a male diagnosed with Chronic Lyme Disease and wanted to see someone local for treatment and she said I could make an appointment, but I never followed up further since I began seeing another doctor."
He is an LLMD. And he's more well known then most people think. He keeps a low profile for good reason. He's officially listed on the LDA server, though their data is outdated. He is also quite kind and very skilled based on other patient reports coming in.
