I'm trying to figure out if this is a lyme symptom but I get instant reacations to foods. All my symptoms are neurological and in my ear... I either get a headache with some foods like sugar or if I take some supplements I feel rushing in my ear and across the bad side of my face.
Does anyone else have this?
I suspect that I have damage from swimming and I wonder if this is the lyme causing this or just the way my ear is.
Thanks, Christine

if it is with sugar it could be a yeast problem or a sugar allergy.
Do you think maybe you have yeast issues?

Try doing a search on "leaky gut syndrome". It might help?

Oh yeah. Only all my reactions are joint and muscle inflamation with resulting damage.
Today I was feeling fine. Had dinner at Bojangles (I haven't eaten there in 3 yrs). I thought I would be safe with a chicken breast, mashed potatos (turned out to be watery and instant) and coleslaw.
Amazingly, within 2 hrs, joints began to hurt. I had trouble saddling my horse and by the time I was ready to ride, I couldn't. Too much pain and it was everywhere.
By the time I got home I could barely walk. I haven't been like this in two yrs. I went to bed but the pain became so severe it was everywhere. Even my breasts hurt and it hurt to breathe. I wondered if I could die from this reaction.
Finally, broke down and took 4 baby aspirin. That is the only painkiller in the house and it is here because my husband takes it daily for his heart.
I'm trying to figure what on earth was in that meal. I suspect soy. I seem to react to soy proteins more than the other food allergies uncovered by bloodtest.
For sure I will not be dining at Bojangles again.

If I have anything with a lot of sugar (like ice cream) I get a headache... some foods seem to trigger migraines in me too... which i've never had before- however- it's not too often.
If i take zinc I feel a rushing and burning on the right side of my face- which is the same side of symptomatic ear. The same thing happends with caffeine and chocolate...
it's strange and it's gotten better so hopefully it will just go away after a while.

When I eat anything with sugar my brain feels
like it is "trembling".
I was told by our first LLMD, and our current PT
that the Lyme sprirochete thrives on sugar.
Although I have never been able to find this
study to cooberate this info, I was told by both
these individuals that the spirochete in a petri
dish and sugar was added - spirochete multiplied
like crazy.
If anyone knows of this data, I would love to
have a copy for my file.
I can't get the kids to completely stop the sugar.
They are all very science minded, if I can show
them the data, it may be wake up call. TEENS -
they think they know everything!

If I eat anything with non-natural sugar in it, I will immediatly feel worse. I think this is the same for everyone.

I became allergic to all foods and supps because of lyme. I also could NOT eat more then 3 tsp's of food a day for about 1 week,
I had been off antibiotics for lyme when this happened. I went back on antibiotics, and treated lyme,
then babesia and could eat again. I had also become severely reactive to the lyme antibiotics because of lyme, so
started with 1/3 tablet and worked up and was ok. I have NEVER heard anyone else become as extreme as myself, my LLMD turned me away at first because he thought it was not lyme.
I had to BEG for treatment, then the LLMD treated me and I got better from this.

I never noticed it before until my recent sinus problems, but sugar makes my sinuses hurt.
So you can actually be allergic to sugar?? That's probably ME!
Luvs.. It was probably MSG or some other chemical in the food, likely the fake potatoes. UGH!
I'd like to see the study on sugar and Lyme, though I'm completely convinced it's true.
My holistic dr said that Vitamin C also feeds yeast ... and therefore likely feeds Lyme.

Ditto...one of my early symptoms was realising after sugar consumption I felt dizzy for weeks afterwards. I can't touch sugar
