I'm making that appt with w on Monday. But I'm curious, how often do you see your doctor?
My friend Ann says her doctor sees her in person about every six months, otherwise he's real good about doing phone consults. He gives prescriptions for at least six months at a time. She said she says money this way and she's not so bad as I am.
Do you go every month? How long are your prescriptions for?

Every 6 months. I live nearby .. and used to go every 2 months during treatment. That was a really good time span for me.
Prescriptions are for 6 mo at a time.

I go once a month but up to every other week depending on my symptoms. However, it is under insurance so it isn't such a big deal. I am still in early treatment so that might slow down after a bit. My prescriptions are given in three month intervals.

I still see Dr. W every other month, although I have been feeling well since February. I am slowly weaning off my meds and he likes to do some rearraging each time I see him.
I am down to 1 malarone 2x a day, diflucan every 3 days, lexapro daily, lorazapam and vicoprofen prn, daily B-12 injections, 4 malic B6 pills a day, 3000 mg of Vitamin C, and a multi-vitamin.
Sounds like a lot, but it's a heck of a lot less than I used to take.
I am also one of those people who cannot handle high doses of any med, so my recovery probably took longer than it should. I am also allergic to cephalosporins, so IV rocephin was out of the question. We susbstitued IV doxy instead.
When I was really ill, I was seeing him weekly, then bi-weekly when my symptoms started to ease. He always called to check on me during the weeks I didn't have an appointment.
He also would always get me in right away if I started to herx or relapse, which happened about 20+ times during the course of my treatment. If I was too sick to see him, he would call in meds over the phone.
Also, like dbourne, he gives me 3 months supply at a time. My insurance won't accept any more than that.
Again, Randi, best of luck with your visit with Dr. W. Know that you are finally in the hands of a doc that can really help you to put this horrible disease behind you!!

I pretty much see my LLMD every month. I also talk to his nurses in between at least once or twice, when I have questions, etc.
My prescriptions are only given at 1-3 month intervals, and since most of the time when I see him in person I forget to ask for refills, I have to call for them.
My LLMD is very picky about making sure he does a full physical exam every time I see him. That is part of the reason I see him so often.

It depends on what meds I am on at the time.
Have been as often as once a month.
My LLMD does phone consults which helps out a lot.
So, about once every 2-3 months or every month depending on blood work that has to be done.
I can also get a Rx and have blood drawn locally.
Hugs,
Geneal

mine varies according to treatment and how i am progressing.
we have recently introduced some new things to my protocol, plus my shoulder fracture, so i am seeing him and/or his partner more frequently.
my llmd is also my pcp, so that makes a bit of a difference. i do like having just one doctor overseeing my care and not having multiple ones where things slip through the cracks.
sometimes i go three months between visits. right now it's every 3-4 weeks.

Most of the time, once a month. Once in a while it's six weeks.

I've been going every 2 months. I am very discouraged with my doc's follow up though. The office is NOT good at messages, I wonder sometimes if they ever give them.
I don't call all the time but there have been a few instances where I've needed something and .....nothing.
I suppose I should change......
