Has anyone with rining ears had better luck with one antibiotic over another. So far Doxycycl and a Minocin generic have made it sound like locusts were in the room. Omnicef has been ok, but hasn't been kind on the bowels. Any ideas?

I had ear ringing with zithromax.

Not with biaxin.

No problems with doxy, but mino gave me vertigo...not dizziness but vertigo.

Bumping up for more help.

Hugs,

Geneal

I had ringing and other noises in my ears along with hearing loss after Zithro.

Went to the ENT and he put me on a diuretic (anti water retention meds).

Once the fluid level came down my hearing improved and the noise levels went down.

Valtrex and Tetrocycline caused me bowel troubles.

I had to scrap the Valtrex for Kutapressin shots in order to treat the Epstein Barr infection. Kutapressin has been around for 100 years or so and is very effective on EBV.

It's hard to recommend one drug for another as we're all so different. It largely depends on what meds you can tolerate.

Are you doing IV, shots, or oral meds? I'm told IV and shots bypass the digestive system thereby causing less distress and side effects.

I've done a lot of ABX via shots because I have a hard time tolerating most meds at the high doses needed.

Sorry I can't help you.

yeah, Daise's link in previous post is to the tread:

B6 and NAC may help offset tinnitus. Liver protection, too, and as GWVet mentioned (thank you) keeping the puffiness down.

Anti-inflammatory supplements such as curcumin/turmeric might also be of help.
