I've been hearing a lot about MMS lately, and it's piqued my curiosity.
Anybody tried it or using it consistently?
What were your experiences and results?
Thanks,
Lauren

Tried it under the care of a doctor. Very strong. Had digestive problems for a month. Eventually put it on the back burner. Could come back around to it, but stopped for now. I do know other people that have had good results with it however.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is MMS?
Posted by lymielauren28 (Member # 13742) on :
Haha...Craig you're asking the wrong person!
Google it - that's what I did. You'll find it over on the left hand side of your screen.
I read about it but can't explain it to you in a way that makes sense.
It is being used in Africa to cure malaria.
It's supposedly very powerful.

Lauren,
Well I feel better now, if even you are unable to explain it. lol I'll try Googling it, and see what comes up.

I just Googled it, and if what I found is correct, it is a Miracle Mineral Solution, made up of a chlorine ion. I'm not so certain I want to be ingesting chlorine in any form, if that's what it is.
Or did I not find the correct item for MMS?

You found it, Craig! Chlorine sounds Oh so good to ME!! Posted by CraigC (Member # 13732) on :
Lymetoo,
Are you joking, or is that what they're referring to? If true, I can't imagine anyone attempting to ingest that stuff. Sure, it'll kill Lyme, but it'll kill you too. Posted by emla999/Lyme (Member # 12606) on :
Actually, MMS is a 28% sodium chlorite solution.
The MMS is mixed with a weak acid compound such as lemon juice or vinegar which in turn creates chlorine dioxide. Supposedly at the amount of 1 ppm.
You should get chlorine dioxide testing strips just to make sure you end up with a 1 ppm solution of chlorine dioxide. Because if the ppm of chlorine dioxide in your final solution is much over 1-5 ppm then you will probably get a stomachache.
And also "chlorine dioxide" is a very different compound than just plain old chlorine.
In water chlorine dioxide will kill virtually every harmful pathogens or bacteria known to man.
So the theory is that maybe when chlorine dioxide is ingested via the MMS protocol it will kill off harmful pathogens inside of the body. This is just a theory though.
Chlorine dioxide is an EPA approved water disinfectant.
Its not approved for any internal medicinal usage though. With the exception of a mouthwash.
But since it is approved for the use in drinking water, in a way it is approved for ingesting.
The link bellow will take you to a man that has ALS and he makes the claim that the MMS has helped him more than anything else that he has ever taken or done.
Here is a link to a forum that discusses the internal use of MMS and "Chlorine Dioxide". A guy by the name of SilverFox seems to be very helpful on that forum.
And apparently based upon this PubMed abstract chlorine dioxide is highly effective at killing the flu virus. And chlorine dioxide gas could be used as a preventive against the flu.
And apparently sometime in the not so distant future chlorine dioxide gas may be use in offices and public places as a flu preventive. And the chlorine dioxide gas will be emitted while the people are still in the room.
So apparently some scientists seem to believe that breathing in chlorine dioxide gas can prevent the flu.
But with the MMS protocol you will be ingesting chlorine dioxide rather than breathing it in. So I am not sure if the MMS protocol would have the same results against the flu. Maybe. Maybe not.

Before jumping to the "MMS is bleach" position, read the books available on it and understand it. Then make an informed decision with your healthcare provider on whether or not it is right for you.

Not really joking, Craig. But I'm very "uninformed" on this since I haven't read any books on it.
Has anyone taken this WITHOUT having stomach issues??? I haven't heard of anyone escaping that.

I've been doing it on and off for 4 months. When you notice stomach issues, you should stop for a while. It does seem to kill many pathogen in the body. However it takes a long time I think to have a strong effect.
I've been up to 32 drops a day for a week. I was doing about 16 drops recently. I never take any more then 8 drop at a time. It will affect your stomach some. I think it does kill pathogens in your body. The next time I start I will probably knock it down to 8 drops a day.
When I was taking it my doctor would assess my lyme load based on ART. I had quite a bit in my system when I started. I didn't tell him I was taking it, when I took MMS and the lyme load would dramatically go down (also taking raintree amazon c-f). I stopped and the lyme load increased. Started again the the lyme load would go down. This would be intervals of about a month. My lyme load at my last visit was very low again based on ART. So that is as close to effectiveness as I can give.
Oh, at some point I did have him test with ART at 2 drops and he recommended I continue.
Hope this helps

Bob, trying to contact you but your PM is full. Please email me or clean up some old items so I can contact you. Thanks!

Just what I want to be taking; something that has been approved by the EPA as a water disinfectant. Drain cleaner will clean your pipes too, but that doesn't mean I want to ingest it. Personally, I'll take my chances with more established means of treatment.

It is possible to substantially reduce the stomachache and nausea that often occurs when people use the MMS protocol.
I personally believe that much of the stomachache and nausea that is associated with the MMS protocol is that their final MMS solution contains over 5 parts per million of Chlorine Dioxide. This alone will give many people a stomachache.
Jim Humble's MMS protocol states that the final solution should contain about 1 ppm of chlorine dioxide. But I believe that many people are drinking a final solution that contains between 5-10 ppm of chlorine dioxide. And thus they are getting a stomachache.
And you can determine the ppm of chlorine dioxide in your final MMS solution by using chlorine dioxide testing strips. Its very simple to do.
After you have mixed up your final solution of MMS then just stick the testing strip in the solution and it will tell you instantly what ppm of chlorine dioxide your solution contains.
If it is over 1 ppm then you should add enough water until you dilute it enough so that you get a 1 ppm of chlorine dioxide solution.
You will barely be able to taste the chlorine dioxide taste if you have a 1 ppm solution and the water will look clear also.
A 1 ppm chlorine dioxide solution will produce far fewer stomaches and nausea. Some people maybe able to tolerate a higher ppm of chlorine dioxide with out getting a stomachache, I would say up to a 5 ppm.
But anything over 5 ppm will give most people a stomachache and it has NOTHING to do with a pathogen die-off and everything to do with to high a ppm of chlorine dioxide in your final solution.
And Jim Humble has stated that he used a 1 ppm of chlorine dioxide solution to cure malaria. And I have no idea as to whether he ever cured anybody of malaria, I am just stating what he said.
So keep your chlorine dioxide solution at 1 ppm and I believe that you can greatly lower the risk for a stomachache.

lymetutu : speaking of stomachache, have you tried mastic gum in cobination with DGL deglycerized licorice root. Sorry if off topic. It helped me with stomach issues when I had them before I found out I had lyme.

Really good information Northstar. Yes I also like to see both sides of an issue. I'm curious how Dr. K. in Washington might respond to this site, considering he is promoting MMS in some of his protocols.
But I'm still curious about this site as well, not very professionally put together. In otherwords done on the cheap. Whose lying? Or is anybody telling the truth?

Thanks for all the posts. This isn't something I would jump into but I would possibly try it in the future.

There was a big brou ha ha on curezone, too, and I dont have a link to that.
Yes, the site is difficult to read because of the gray print.
But information is information.
Your right, it is hard to discriminate. The best way might be to do some investigation of the references on the above mentioned site to verify, confirm, support, etc.

Aloha~
Despite of what is being said...
I've been taking it for about a month now...
My LLMD recommend it for me for Babesia. I did my research and made an informed desicion to try it...
I am up to 9 drops MMS with 45 drops of 10% citric acid solution twice a day.....
My stomach is not bothered at all really....
I would suggest that people should read about it before putting it down and make some informed comments and decisions for yourself...
some good websites you posted emla999/Lyme...very constructive...
some treatments resonate with some and others don't....we are all so individual....
I will keep you all updated how I do with it...
Anyways, thought I'd add my point of view to this...
No offense intended to those who disagree....
Much Love and Smiles~

This part of Emla999's post, says it all for me
"Its not approved for any internal medicinal usage though. With the exception of a mouthwash."
I'm all about healing and getting well, but just because it might not have proven detrimental to those taking it in the short run, how do we really know what that would do to our bodies in the long run? There are risks with everything we do in life, but some risks are a lot higher than others.
Again, I'm not going to play Russian Roulette with my health, just for the chance that it "might" work.

i have been using mms for 70 days . i am better %30-40 according to 70 days ago i am using it 10 days on and 3-6 days off because of the intense herx i had used abx about 15 month and it didn t work i haven t had any herx reaction on the ab treatment but i have had real herx on MMS treatment myself, MMS is very strong stuff in chronic lyme but MMS dose is slowly increased. high dose MMS can make big herx so i recommend to take low dose MMS.i am taking 12 drops a day MMS. this dose very effective for lyme. regards. ahmet

I worked well for my wife, but did eventually bother her stomach. She does not use it any more for that reason. It worked well killing the Lyme bacteria in her spine. This was a very obvious effect.
I used it for six weeks for Crohn's disease and had no stomach problems as long as I did not take it in the morning on an empty stomach. It resolved my symptoms completely.
Different people react to the stomach part differently. most do not have a problem but some do.
I would recommend taking a probiotic also, if you use MMS.
It still would take a long time to kill all of the bacteria. There has to be a good blood supply for it to work, similar to antibiotics.

Just because you "herx" on it doesn't mean it's killing keets.
Samento makes people herx too, but I haven't heard of it curing anyone yet.
If it HELPS you, fine and dandy.

I understand that Jim Humble is going to market MMS in chocolate and strawberry flavors. I think I read that someplace. Maybe not.

I talked to a dentist today who Lyme-aware, and he recommended it. Uses it himself but did say it was really strong. He doesn't have Lyme though.
