I tested positive for Bb per WB, Igenex, CA late last year. I've been in treatment for co-infections (EBV, Mycoplasma Pnuemoniae, Candida) for the last year and a half or so.
My LLMD treated the co-infections before the Lyme because they were diagnosed before the Lyme.
I finished the last of those antibiotic treatments the first week of April and my LLMD wants to see how I do before moving on to treating the Lyme.
S/he wants to be sure my symptoms don't come back from the other infections and wants to be certain what symtpoms belong to the Lyme.
So far this makes sense to me. But, at my most recent 2 appointments I asked when we would start the Lyme treatment and his/her response was some what of avoidance.
My husband and I are both left with a feeling that the LLMD may not treat the Lyme even though s/he has run blood tests through Quest and Igenex, both of which were positive.
Maybe s/he is going off the severity and type of symptoms to determine whether or not to treat with ABX.
Most of my misery and severity of symptoms have been related to EBV and not as many/much to Lyme, currently.
Since EBV treatment, my days are less impaired and many days I can put in a full days work of stay at home mom! Whereas, before EBV ABX I couldn't get out of bed much.
Do any of you know of people not being treated for Lyme? Could I be a carrier or something like that?
For those with fewer and less severe symptoms are there other options for treatment than ABX?
I appreciate your thoughts in advance!

I can't believe he/she won't treat the lyme. That is courting danger if you ask me. I don't get it.

i agree with lymetoo. i really wonder about a lot of the docs who call themselves llmd. i wish there was some kind of certification for them or something.

Hi GWVet,
Is this an LLMD who uses ILADS Guidelines? You might ask.

I've not asked if s/he follows ILADS but have asked if s/he supports IDSA's guidelines. S/he stated s/he believes in treating the individual and not following a single way of treatment.
The policies of the place I go goes against current medical beliefs and works on medicine that will be mainstream in 20 years.
That's what is so confusing about the whole thing. Maybe it's just me perceiving something that's not being said or implied...
I have another appointment mid September so I'll know more then.
