This informative and well-written article involves two support group leaders, Robin and Jay Wolfenden in the Westminister, Maryland area.
Thanks to this group, folks are able to get help in that section of the state, which otherwise would not be covered.
Thanks Robin and Jay!
Interesting quote... "Carroll [County] had 197 confirmed cases of Lyme disease in 2006, and 224 confirmed cases in 2007, Hare said.
The Health Department received 602 reports of Lyme disease in 2007, Hare said, but due to difficulties in getting information from doctors' offices and labs, only 224 cases were confirmed.
Hare said she suspects many more of the unconfirmed cases were Lyme, but there's no way for her office to know."
Doesn't look "wide" to me... but then I'm not bettyg!!

Thanks for the information. I live in Carroll County MD. I just called the health department on Friday because 3 of my 4 kids have now tested positive for Lyme.
They told me that they have had 90 cases already this year. They said that their only suggestion about having anything doe was to call our local Senators, which I did.
Come to find out one of the Carroll County Senators has a wife that has Lyme and has been receiving treatment for 18 months.

BettyG...
May I suggest?
Rather than you being bothered with repeatedly writing instructions for all the posts that you are unable to see for one reason or another... or for the ones you would like to have adjusted...
Here is what I do... keeping in mind I have as much or more problems reading stuff than most.
I simply copy and paste any posts I have problems with on an open word document (I open up word for this reason when I turn on the computer) and then I can adjust it to any size to fit my personal needs.
That process requires 2 quick steps on my part, makes the information able to be read by me... and doesn't bother others with requests to re-do their work once it is already done.
As for tiny.url... I don't know what is up with them? The last 4-5 times I've used the site it didn't work at all... gave a message to come back later... or provided a link that just didn't work. The site use to work fine so I don't know what to think.
I also don't see the stretched out page here... even with my font set very large. Sorry. Is your computer set using the right buttons and whistles?
Maybe by using the word trick I mentioned above, you'll be able to see what you'd like, be less stressed over it... and so will others.
PS... Do you need help learning how to copy and paste? If so... let us know. I can't believe the difference it made for me when I learned!

Kim,
Sorry to hear you have a lot of children who are sick! Oh MY! Do you have good help for them now? Let us know.
I will be communicating with the DOH again in the near future.. and the legislators. Would you mind emailing me with the Senators name?
Are you interested in working with him/her to get us some help?
Please let me know. We can use advocates in that area... and I see you are already doing patient advocacy things.... which is great!
