Hi, Ive have been having stomach problems for a while now (diarrhea, gas, bloating, severe abdominal pain when stomach gets empty AM and vomiting afterwards) but lately after doing a course of flagyl and taking oil of oregano and garlic every morning at high doses and lots of probiotics at night ive had NO symptoms. I have to eat within a few hours of breakfast though or i am at risk for the severe pain and vomiting to come on. after about 10 days of sticking to the routine and supplements and having no problems, i had a slightly altered routine yesterday, (only had a small lunch and went a long time between lunch and dinner) ate some irish sausages (not the best i know!) and got severe pain, diarrhea and vomiting about an hour later. Im just wondering has anyone else had this problem? ive tested negative for C Diff, h pylori and my ultrasound showed no gallstones. im also treating agressively for any possible candida but so far feeling no die off so dont think thats the problem.
I stopped anti-biotics when the stomach problems got bad (after 20 months high dose stuff) and have been doing the Buhner protocol for the last month. the thing is ive improved so much over the last few months energy and brain fog wise that i feel ready to go back to work and with no stomach symptoms for ten days i decided to get back into things and have an interview tomorrow. but lo and behold the stomach 'incident' happened last night, just as bad as ever. I thought id see how i get through today and be more vigilant about eating every couple of hours. the gastro i went to said im doing very well treating myself so he recommended holding off on any endoscopies etc because he said the highest probability is that the anti biotics have just damaged my gut but that hopefully it ll heal with time.
taking L-Glutamine, DGL, Garlic, oil or Oregano, Nystatin, probiotics etc
if anyone has experienced anything similar i would really appreciate hearing about it.
its just because im not sure 100% what is wrong or what i need to do to make it better, this makes me quite nervous. at the same time im feeling great otherwise (finally! went undiagnosed 10 years and most of the 20 months of treatment were pretty miserable as you all know)
please, if there s anyone out there who experienced episodes of pain and vomiting couple hours after a meal please let me know, thanks so much!!! sorry for such a long post!

I often get a bad stomach. Mornings are worst with a sort of "morning sickness" feeling.
I have read it is one of the Lyme's symptoms. Makes since - I'm not under any treatment. You might want to look at another thread here concerning food "combining" which I found helpful.
It's certain foods which should not be combined. One of the posters here did a good job. I have a bloating problem and found this diet actually works!

Any chance you're gluten intolerant?? There may have been gluten in the sausage.
Other than that, did you eat anything else that may have caused a resurgence of yeast? The oil of oregano and garlic may have killed out a lot of yeast for you and something you recently ate brought it on again??
just a guess!
Hope you're feeling much better soon!!!
OR... it's the fat in the sausage setting off your gallbladder???

thanks guy for the tips. not sure what made it come back have been avoiding sugar etc and didnt splurge on anything sugary or anything. its making me crazy trying to figure out what might have triggered it to come back about 10 perfect days!! dont think its the fat as i have no gallstones and eat alot of good fats generally. its so confusing!! thanks again though:)

right now i'm just drinking slimfast.
the doctor gave me phernagan for the pain and something for the nausea.
every time i eat anything i get sick.
wonder if this is lyme also.

I get bad stomach cramps if I don't eat, if I don't eat enough or if I don't eat what I call "solid food". This means if I ate only salad or vegetables without any meat or carbohydrates.
I had this for many years but surprise, surprise: during my years on abx it was gone. Now, after I had 6 months w/o abx it's back. I had 3 months of Levaquin and Minocyclin since but it's still there.
Just now, I had to go for at least a joghurt to stop the pain.
In my case it has nothing to do with gluten intolerance because I'm 100% glutenfree since 5 years.

thanks so much for the replies, it really helps to know ur not the only one with this (not that u want other people to go through it but u know what i mean) i did a trial of going without gluten for several months a while back, it was before i had this particular problem but i didnt notice any difference in how i felt while off it and i did pay attention to how i felt when i first ate gluten after that so i dont think that is the problem. its a good suggestion though as i know its an issue for alot of people.
Randibear that sounds awful, im so sorry u have to feel like that its horrible. before i got diagnosed with lyme i had terrible stomach issues burning acid type pain and was on protonix and other acid reducers for a long time, then i went off those and took DGL and gradually my stomach healed (i think it was Bart that caused those symptoms) then i could eat hardly anything but for about 2 years now my stomach has been pretty good other than one bout with GI Candida. i wish i knew why it was happening, it bugs me so much not knowing!! is it lyme, is it abx or what? Gabrielle, im somewhere between you and Randibear in that not eating makes it worse but only not eating a few hours after a meal, it never happens just in the morning before breakfast, only a few hours after breakfast, its the weirdest thing... i think for the moment im just going to hang in there with it, treat it with natural stuff and hope it heals bit by bit. hope u guys feel better soon too:)
