does activated charcoal help to alleviate symptoms caused by neurotoxins? my mother has horrific balance issues/vertigo and i'm hoping the charcoal can help.

anyone have any experiences, good or bad, with this?

she is also taking cumadin for a blood clot. can activated charcoal disrupt the effects of it (assuming she takes them many hours apart.)

In case you haven't already discovered the wealth of information on charcoal in and around this site, I'll tell you that it does, indeed, help with neurotoxins. I've heard that it's one of the only detox agents that doesn't also interfere with absorption of fat-soluble nutrients (I'm not sure about that, though, so don't quote me on it).

Here's a link to a post made on another forum about charcoal:

Regarding the Coumadin, charcoal will inhibit its efficacy, often absorbing it before it can do any good at all. I've heard that in order to avoid this effect, one must take any pharmaceuticals at least four hours before or after the time of charcoal ingestion (but again, this may be incorrect).

I hope that helps!
