I am currently on 1000 mg biaxin and 400 mg plaq. daily for three weeks. Have been having terrible herxing problems, heaviness and dizziness to the point that I want to stop these med's. Anyone out there having these problems or can help me get through this!!!!!

Hang in there, it is an effective combo!

My herxing on plaquenil and biaxin lasted about one month,
with the same effects. For at least one week I cut back to
500mg/day biaxin, so I could continue working.

But I felt much better after about four weeks, and now this
combo does not effect me at all -- except for feeling better &
better! Best wishes.

Hi dian,

I am on that combo right now.

I don't know if I am herxing or if I am having problems with the meds.

I tend to think herxing. Besides the same problems you are experiencing I am having terrible shoulder pain and eye twitching.

I actually did not take any yesterday. I am going to start again tonight.

I had to take a days break from it. I know that is not a good idea but I was really having a hard time.

The shoulder pain is very new to me. It feels like I injured it but I did not do anything.

I have been feeling really dizzy and off balance. Even when I lay down I have some vertigo.

I hope this passes soon for both of us. It must be killing something...besides us I hope.

Take care, kit

You are probably herxing. Stay on it. It helped me to get so much better.

i just started plaquenil, added it to my new higher dose of doxy (200 mg/twice day). started the plaq last night.

this morning i feel a bit dizzy and tired/heavier.

is this typical of just plaq?

my llmd doesn't think i have babs...i am missing some major babs symptoms...

so maybe it is just what this medication does to you to be affective?
