Let's say your cousin stopped visiting you several years ago.

Good ridden's!

Does the body still think and act like the monthly visit will still happen?

Thanks for any responses.

Obviusly your hormones have dropped off so you dont get the peaks and lows of hormones, so instead you get a totally balanced hormone output throughout the month (or a lack of it throughout the month) although your biological clock can often then be very influenced by the Lunar cycle.

That is why when and endo/Gyne using bio-identical HRT in a post menopausal women they will say use estrogen replacement days 1-25 of the lunar cycle and progesterone days 15-25 of the lunar cycle.

So the answer is yes your body will have a conditioned or influenced cycle just as it did when you were in your monthly cycle. WELL: Thats the theroy anway [Roll Eyes]

I don't know.

But according to my old PCP duck, menopause was the name for all my Lyme, bart and babs signs and symptoms!

He thinks menopause causes Bell's, severe muscle pain, arthritis, causes the neck to go out of alignment, severe head pain, difficulty reading, wavering hearing, eyesight troubles ... [Big Grin]

Rianna,,,

Thanks for the explanation.

I am trying to figure out why I feel a certain way... and it doesn't feel like TBD's but more like several years back when I supplemented hormones (I don't now)... so I'm trying to see IF that could be what I am experiencing again.

Sure feels like it.

Either that... or I am experiencing what daddy's do when the wives are going to have a baby... uh uh.. sympathy pains or whatever?

Forgot what it is called... but I am wondering if I am having that.... because I'm going to be a grandma....

Or...

I am just plain old goofy!

I vote goofy!

Hey Cockapoo..

Usually I shorten a name so I don't have to type it all out.. but with yours... I'll type!

I know very little about women things... but have heard about men... and their hormones. I believe that is right. They do have a cycle too.

I guess though that men would have the advantage and already know, if needed... how to make a hormone. Do you?

Well, if you MUST know... to make a hormone....

Don't pay her.

I KNOW ... BAD Tincup!!! Sorry!

Hey, hey, hey, GOOFY is MY name!!!! No stealing names here! [Big Grin]

I think hormone levels go down after menopause. If anything, more progesterone is needed, not more estrogen due to estrogen being way too plentiful as a pollutant.

But, no, you shouldn't have the estrogen/progesterone fluctuation when you are not ovulating.

If you feel like you have hormone problems read about progesterone cream and Dimension 3 by Xymogen.

HA!

You said.. "If anything, more progesterone is needed, not more estrogen due to estrogen being way too plentiful as a pollutant."

I am with you 100 percent on that! Anyone comes near me with estrogen- gets shot!

That stuff is a NIGHTMARE for me! And the sad thing was... every stinking doctor kept insisting on making me take it!

Of course feeling so bad because of the TBD's... I thought they must know best... so I did as obeyed and for years... through different brands, formulas, etc.. I was horrible!

So, years ago I was supplementing big time with natural progesterone... and it was the only thing that helped. We learned from that here - that many women here needed it too.

I've used the Dixie Health brand (Progesterone 900).

Those folks are great and very helpful... but I was so depleted I would have had to smear my entire body full of the cream several times a day to get what was needed.... I'm exaggerating here a bit... but you get the point.

So I eventually went to compound form (first cream then capsules) from a pharmacy... all natural. It was like being in heaven.

I will check out the brand you recommend though. Thanks for the suggestion... goofy!

hey, more progesterone?

Just had my levels taken and I'm way low on progesterone. MD said it could be immune system tired in addition to nearing menopause.

Anyone know this theory?

Best,

Tincup,

Ducks-R-Us ... that's precious.

Could it be your thyroid? Or cortisol?

No, but I'd like to know more.

I'm taking good quality progesterone creme and I feel nothing from it.

Years ago, in menopause, I was prescribed bioidentical estrogen creme. A compounding pharmacist prepared it. I felt bad and gained weight right away!

I understand that to get good estrogen creme, I'd have to order out of state, in league with an alternative doctor who knows how to write that prescription.

Oh well.

I have had a number of women tell me that after menopause they still had the same monthly symptoms including, bloating, weight gain, etc.--only no bleeding at the end of the cycle.

The symptoms came just as regular as clockwork.

at age 46, this all stopped and I had some hot flashes (while my ND was out of the country). After he returned and adjusted my herbal granules . . .

I have never had any problem whatsoever. Amazing. I have had no trouble at all from any menopause symptoms after that first heat wave.

and - most of my life the menstrual pain was sickening. I lost 1/4 of my life for decades.

I hope all goes swimmingly.

The product I'm talking about isn't progesterone. [Smile] It does something (can't remember what, LOL) to help with estrogen dominance.

Thanks for giving me my name back. [Wink]

Post menopause you will not be estrogen dominant, pre and peri you probably will be so therefore you need to supplement natural progesterone days 15-25 of menstrual cycle.

POST menopause all hormones will deplete although hormones are not only made in your ovaries they are made in other parts of your body so you will always have a small level of estrogen and progesterone but very little - the dominant hormone can often then be androgen excess, this is what can make a post menopausal women hairy!!!!!

BIO-Identical estrogen is as kind as Bio-Identical Progesterone if used correctly as both needs to be in balance - yes estrogen dominancy is incorrect but deficiency is just as bad.

So if you are replacing hormones (NOT WITH PHARMACUTICAL HRT) then you have a pre level estrogen and progesterone monthly curve run and then your endo should set your estrogen/progesterone and run a post replacement monthly curve to ensure you are not estrogen/progesterone dominant or deficient.

If you dont want to replace with bio-identical estrogen then the best Post Menopausal product in my opinion is www.supplementspot.com/menopausecream.html

and they also do a fantastic progesterone cream http://www.supplementspot.com/progcream10u.html

The product that blocks estrogen is DIM http://www.supplementspot.com/broccoli.html

All of the above links give very good explainations

Happy Reading
