i've read on here that some people take cortef to control vertigo symptoms... if so, what was the dosage per day that worked for you?

Hi, Cam

I take cortef everyday. I was started on it b/c my adrenal glands were shutting down. Now i have been diagnosed with adrenal insufficiency.

I started out on 40mg/day and am down to 15mg/day. I responded to you b/c prior to the cortef I experienced vertigo also, but no longer.

There are, however, a lot of side effects to taking a steroid and some are not pleasant. I have gained weight and i have that bloated "steroid" look about me. Also, the steroid may mask other conditions or illnesses and it does suppress the immune system.

As far as vertigo goes, I don't have it any longer. Whether it is due to the cortef or not i cannot say b/c i started on the cortef for a different reason. But i can tell you i haven't had vertigo since being on the cortef. I do however still get a little light headed or dizzy sometimes, but at least the room doesn't spin.

Best of luck to you!
God Bless,
Leigh
