I am just beginning an anti-parasite protocol that consists of the following:
1.Metronidazole (10 days), then 2.Yodoxin (20 days), then 3.Paromomycin (10 days)
My LLMD has suggested consideration of IV antibiotics since I have not seen progress after a year on orals. (I've also followed a gluten free, no sugar diet--and use a variety of supplements.)
I work in a school district...and I was hoping to begin IV in the summer (if I had to) in order to "get used to it" before beginning work again in mid-August.
I see my LLMD tomorrow. I'm just wondering if I should request that we forego the parasite treatment and move on to IV.
OR...is it possible that the parasite treatment could produce some substantial results? (Ideally, I would like to avoid IV...but I'm willing to do it if it will help--something I won't know until I try.)
Any thoughts on the above?

Just to clarify: I would complete the parasite protocol in early August. Therefore, I wouldn't have much time to start IV while still on vacation.

What drugs would you be doing IV and how many time a day would you have to take them. As a teacher the number of times I had to infuse per day was a factor, because it does take time to prepare the i.v. and then an hour or so for the drug to run through. When I did I.V. zith and flagyl it was several hours per day and for 8 weeks I missed school. Then I cut down and only did the flagyl on weekends, so I could go to school with the picc line still in.
You probably don't want to do the parasite cleanse and the i.v's at the same time as there might be too much die off and toxins to handle. Hiker53

I definitely do not want to do both at the same time.
As far as the amount of time per day, I believe my doctor said something like 1.5 hours.
