Me again. Sorry...

I am in Oz and don't have a lyme doctor - just a specialist who sometimes goes along with what I say. But he wants to stop my 2g IV rocephin in 2 weeks, after only 8 weeks of treatment.

I have been very strict with my diet and maintenance and feel fantastic with no lyme symptoms. I know this may be in part to my change in lifestyle/diet but am so scared I will relapse once we stop the IV abx.

I don't want to change anything right now but also know the abx may no lnger be working. But if I feel 100% I am not sure I should mess with anything as it can't get any better right now.

Any ideas as to what maintenance I should go onto, including maybe choice of oral abx?

I really need a LLMDA to walk my specialist through all this [Frown]

It's awesome that you already feel great - congrats!

The IV Rocephin has killed some of the life forms of lyme but it has also driven some into cystic form which will hide until the IV Rocephin is stopped and then often will come back.

This is probably why so many feel great but then later relapse after IV Rocephin therapy.

You might ask your doctor to let you have 4 more weeks of IV Rocephin AND 500mg of Tindamax given every 8 hours to address the cyst life forms of lyme.

When you discontinue the IV Rocephin, it's wise to transition to oral antibiotics like perhaps doxycycline and Tindamax for several months to
make sure you kill any straglers.

All of this is just my personal opinion though and as always you should consult a doctor.
