I am currently on IV rocephin, which I get in the evening. In the early AM,I take my vitamins before breakfast.I've been doing this for the past month without incident. For the past several mornings though,I've been getting a full body red burning reaction,I look as though I've been in the summer sun for 8 hours,I can feel my skin burning terribly,to touch the skin it feels warm, and feels like sunburned skin. I am going try taking the vitamins out of the equation, see if anything changes,,anyone else experience similiar?

Yep, I had been on it for a short time without any issues, and after I infused one morning...samer thing. Started about 1.5 hrs after infusing.
Good old Benadryl and then my LLMD pulled me off of it. Posted by beatlyme (Member # 15262) on :

At least you went right back to normal quickly. Even after having the line pulled, it was 2 full days of red skin & itchy itchy itchy.
Maybe that is a good sign for you? I would still check in with my LLMD...But good luck!

This same think happened to me. I had been on Rocephin for 15 days with no problems then did the evening infusion and a couple hours later my face was red and on fire and severe chills.
Tried infusion in the morning premedicated with benedryl and the same thing happened so no more Rocephin.
There are many other treatment options for IV.
Allergic reactions or hypersensitivites to medicines can happen at any time.
