I had been on Ceftin and Nystatin and when going for my 'second opinion' with Dr. R, he changed me over to Omnicef and Diflucan until they can get my IV lined up.

I am feeling like I'm drugged or drunk to the gills and I know it's 4th of July but I haven't touched a drop of anything that could do this.

Aren't Omnicef and Ceftin pretty similar?

I've been on Diflucan in the past and don't recall this, so the only new meds is Omnicef and I'm suppose to add Biaxin and Plaqunil to this combo next Monday.

If I'm already soaring into outer space, I hate to think where I'll be when I add more.

Has anyone else had a severe drunkish/drugged feeling just from these types of drugs? I'm acting more drunk than people that were actually drinking in this household for the holiday and it just doesn't seem right.

And what might I expect after adding Biaxin and Plaqunel to this already crazy state?

I'm suppose to be hearing back from the dr.'s office early this next week about getting scheduled for my port and once that's in...if I'm having this much craziness from just these two meds after being on tons of various orals for 20 weeks, does this imply I will be on the moon by the time I get IV???????

That drunken feeling isn't that unusual. Could be yeast that's why the diflucan regimen. Bacteria could have entered that area of the brain. Continued treatment should clear it up.

So you would both say that this is probably related to the Diflucan instead of the abx's? Meaning, it won't just get worse when they swap me to IV?

I had been taking Nystatin and didn't have this problem and never had it in the past with Nystatin, but it's brutal.
