OKAY-I HAD ONE WESTERN BLOT BAND ON 5/30/08 THAT

CAME BACK POSITIVE SO MY DRS DECIDED TO TREAT FOR

LYME, ONCE I STARTED THE ANTIBIOTICS MY SYMPTOMS
GOT WORSE. I WAS ON CEFTIN FOR 18 DAYS AND THEN

THEY SWITCHED ME TO 200 MG/DAY OF DOXY WHICH I

HAVE BEEN ON FOR 8 DAYS NOW AND FEEL TERRIBLE. I
HAVE OVER HALF OF THE SYMPTOMS OF LYME. MY DR RAN

MORE TESTS......CD57, C4A, C3A ON 6/30/08 AND

THEY CAME UP NEGATIVE. I STILL FEEL TERRIBLE, DO
I HAVE THE LYME OR NOT? DID THEY ABX GIVE THESE

LATERS TESTS A NEG READING. SHOULD I CONTINUE MY
ABX FOR THE 1 MONTH THEY PUT ME ON IT. SINCE I

ONLY HAD THE ONE BAND OF WESTERN BLOT DID THAT

MEAN I HAD SOMETHING ELSE? MY DR WANTS TO REFER
ME TO INFECTIOUS DISEASE. WHERE DO I GO FROM

HERE?

If you had a positive WB and symptoms, you have Lyme Disease.

It sounds as if your doctor is following the IDSA guidelines. The IDSA was recently brought up on anti-trust violations for those guidelines and they have to rewrite them .... so an ID doctor will not be a help with Lyme.

I would post under seeking doctors to find a Lyme Literate physician (LLMD) near you.

You are supposed to get worse on meds ... it's called a Herxheimer Reaction. If your doctor knew about Lyme he would know that. Please find another doctor!

raally just wanted to be sure it wasn't something

else. Even if only one band came up positive? My

Dr didn't seem to be to sure.

CD57, C3a, C4a do not come up "Negative". Sounds like the information you have is not accurate. Do you have copies of the tests?

not yet, they are sending them in the mail. I

will post when i find out.

Sorry, the way you had it posted the first time in a block in all capitals, I misread. I thought you wrote that you had a positive Western Blot.

I agree with Scott, I'd get a copy of your test results.

Also, you might want to get retested by IGeneX. All the do is Lyme testing, so you will get more accurate results.

sixgoofykids - i did have one positive band of the western blot test. my dr made it sound like

you needed 2 or more positive bands.

I only had one band positive via Quest Western Blot.

IgM band 23. That band and my symptoms were enough to get me diagnosed by a local doc.

Then found a LLMD through this site and Lymetoo. [Smile]

My LLMD added in the diagnosis' of babesia and bartonella to the Lyme.

Sounds like you are herxing which is another indicator of Lyme.

Please find yourself a LLMD. Your health depends on it.

Hugs,

Geneal
