I'll be going on vacation in a few weeks in an area where I'm sure there are plenty of ticks, and want to treat some of my clothing with Permethrin spray. Have not been able to find in stores. Does anybody have a good brand and a reliable place where they buy it online?
Thanks!

Pyrethrins cause breast cancer in mice, don't they? something like that--- don't remember if it was pyrethrins or a commercial insecticide with pyethrins.

Thanks everybody, I'll check em out!
pamoisondelune - I was curious about the pyrethrin you mentioned. Wikipedia says permethrin is in the family of pyrethroids, so I clicked over to that, and this is what it says:
A pyrethroid is a synthetic chemical compound similar to the natural chemical pyrethrins produced by the flowers of pyrethrums (Chrysanthemum cinerariaefolium and C. coccineum). Pyrethroids are common in commercial products such as household insecticides and insect repellents. In the concentrations used in such products, they are generally harmless to human beings but can harm sensitive individuals.
I'm wary of pesticides but I'm even more scared of another dose of Lyme & coinfections. Posted by Dancer (Member # 11039) on :
Just thought I'd post the results of my digging around for where to buy permethrin.
"Sawyer" is one co. that makes permethrin treatments for clothing. Their website thoroughly explains the products and has a good FAQ page about permethrin. No online store, though they have links to other sites where you can buy.
