i stopped the levaquin a week ago due to leg pain.

well i still have some leg pain and have to wear my shoes all the time. the lower muscles really hurt.

i just plain hurt all over, shoulders, elbows, knees and especially hips. i mean i feel like crap...out of it, bad moods(a lot more than normal!)....

i just feel like a mack truck ran over me. and i didn't feel this way before i started it.

i'm also much more depressed...like why even bother getting out of bed, crying more...

what in the world is going on? is this normal after stopping a med? i've taken tons of others, biaxin, amoxy, ceftin, etc., and i've never done this....

oh, i forgot to mention, now i have this numbness below my knees and my feet. it's scary.

yep, will mention to doc tuesday.

I had this, too. It took me 4 weeks to overcome my fatigue that came with the Levaquin. Also, I got new symptoms.

The good news is that the pain in the legs and feet that I got from the Levaquin are now - a few weeks later - practically gone.

This drug is very harsh and has lots of side effects. I just wonder about the new symptoms I got...

Hi,

How long were on it? I have been on levaquin for 2 months now. About a week and a half into it, I got such pain in my hips and legs. Terrible!!

I stuck it out and the pain lessened quite a bit. Much more tolerable, but like I said, I stuck it out even though the pain was really bad.

I guess that I just thought that I didn't have a lot of other options at this point and that it would either get better, or I would die trying.

I am going to stay on it for another month, maybe two because I think that my thinking, mood, emotions, that feeling of degeneralization, (the one where nothing matter's, nothing feels "normal") is better.

I also think that my dizziness is better. I had what you would call a feeling where my balance didn't feel right, always felt off. I really feel that it has been better.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up, not even my own, but I do think, so far, this has been the best drug that I have been on.

I have been on a lot. I have been in treatment for about 3 years.

Everyone is different and everyone reacts diffently to different things.

Yes, make sure you talk to your Doctor (I wouldn't wait, I'd call him or her) and talk about what is going on.

You really should not stop and then maybe restart medicine if at all possible. It could be a reaction, or it could be a herx?

I really hope that you feel better and can get out of this terrible pain you are in. Sending you prayers for comfort your way Randibear.

i as only on it for 14 days. the severe joint pain started about six days in and was so bad i couldn't get out of bed or walk to the potty.

it could have been a herx but i was so terrified and i mean, terrified, of having tendon problems that i talked to doc's office and he said stop it.

then about 4 days after stopping it, all hell broke loose and it really got bad. i couldn't even get out of the car i was so bent over. then after a couple of days it started to improve.

now i just have such fatigue and leg pain and burning in my legs.

i really don't know if it's a herx or not but i need to take something else cause i'm not willing to risk it with levaquin.
