Hi everyone.
I currently have very high EBV titers. Can anyone help me with over-the-counter products I can use to lower my viral load? I think it may contributing to severe fatigue that I am experiencing.

I was thinking olive leaf extract? Anything else? What about the iodine that jamescase mentioned in another thread?

Thanks for the advice!!

Check this out: World Botanicals Royal Camu. Call World Botanicals and ask for proper dose for high EBV titiers.

Google it and it should come up.

My LLMD put my on Seagate brand olive leaf extract. I take 3 capsules twice a day. I started a 1.5 weeks ago, and have been herxing like crazy and running a fever within 24 hours of starting...it's clearly doing something!

If you decide to go the prescription route, Valtrex is good for controlling EBV.

Dr. Montoya told me during my appointment with him in April that Valcyte is better than Valtrex for EBV. But Valctye is super strong, and the verdict is still out as to whether it really is more effective than Valtrex and worth all the side effects.

I know having EBV on top of lyme is just another hassle keeping us feeling rotten. Hope you find something soon that helps!

hey nobody!

i've been taking valtrex and olive leaf extract for ten months. frankly, i don't notice any change with either of them. i've not had my EBV titers retested, so can't tell you if it's working.

I do believe that as long as you have Lyme and co's your EBV can stay elevated. fix the bacterial infections and the herpes bugs should settle down on their own.

I doubt that they can really be suppressed as long as you have other infections.

I believe that both valcyte and valtrex are two antiviral drugs (prescription) that can lower EBV. I was on valcyte as I also had high titers to HHV-6. Valcyte lowered IgG antibody titers to HHV-6, EBV and VZV in me.

You might want to also get tested for HHV-6. If that is also high, then you would need valcyte.

I'm another one who's now on Olive Leaf Extract. My LLMD put me on it for EBV. One cap per meal.

I've usually taken one a day, off and on, for years. Every time I was tested, I had "mono" but never thought that OLE was the thing to take for it.
