Just curious if Flagyl kills all three forms of Lyme. I know it gets the cystic form but what about the spirochete and L-form?
What affect does it have on Bart? Any?

My LLMD thinks it gets bart too. Definitely the cyst form. I don't think the others. Hopefully someone will come along and weigh in here.

I do well with Flagyl long term... I know it can be dagerous, but its still better then what Im going though now.
Ive been meaning to ask the doctor about this.

yes, i echo your question. i know flagyl busts cysts, but what else does it address (spirochetes, bart, babs?)

my understanding is that the antibiotics, e.g., doxycycline, biacin, zithromax, kill the spirochete form. We load up for a week or two, whatever the MD's protocol is and then take the Flagyl to break open the cysts. When the cyst breaks, the other antibiotics are already in the system and kill what come out of the cysts... Is this correct?

I think it just kills the Cyst, not motile or L forms.
I think Biaxin kills the L forms. Don't know about Bart though . Somebody that knows more than me may come on and tell us , as I would like to know if I have got this right myself .
I think Biaxin kills the motile ones as well.

My doc says it kills ALL forms of Bb because it destroys its DNA. So the spirochetes will die as well as cysts and the rest. I suppose that is why flagyl herxes are the worst.

i've never had a real bad herx on flagyl. just a massive migraine that went away.
is that important? are the cysts, l form, whatever, in your head?

If that were true, we wouldn't need the other drugs. Flagyl would do it all. I don't believe it does.
