Hello, yesterday morning when I woke up, I noticed that my skin in my inner thigh hurt to

touch. Excruciating so. Even my jeans were too much to wear. Today, it has moved to my thigh,

and back to my hip. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? It feels somewhat

like a bruise, but much more 'electric', if that makes any sense at all.
Thank you.

up for answers; sorry, never experienced this

I have never experienced that, but I have heard of it. Some people with Lyme complain it is "painful" to feel their clothing even touch their skin.

I'm sure there is a good chance this will get better with proper Lyme treatment. Good luck! [Smile]

Like nerve pain?

I have lots of nerve pain. My legs cant take a fan blowing on them makes the pain worse.

Are you on flagyl because neuropathy is a side effect of flagyl just incase but it is also a symptom of lyme.

I have heard some people say that lyrica has helped their nerve pain. If you feel you need relief i would ask your dr about it.

I am sorry I dont really have any quick fix answers on how to allievate it.

Just know you are not alone. I hope it goes away soon. [group hug]

What medications are you on?

It almost sounds like what I have in my neck. I don't like to move it because my skin hurts and yes, almost feels electric. My main complaint and I hate it.

That has happened to me many times. It usually lasts a couple of days and goes away for a while. HORRIBLE feeling.

meds and rest is all you can do for it. Wear light clothes.

Hope it goes away quickly for you.

Hello:

When you said 'electric' I immediately think nerve pain. This is very common with Lyme and Bartonella.

I can certainly relate I this is my worst symptom and have it in many areas.

Like others said, certain antibiotics can cause this, but more likely a symptom of the infection.

It can get better...if intolerable, ask your doctor about Gabapentin or Lyrica which can help.

Take Care, MBB3

Thank you all for your responses. I greatly appreciate it. I am not on any meds yet. My

first appt. with a LLMD is a week from tomorrow. I have not been diagnosed yet. This

has happened before, but usually not this intense, nor this large of an area. It is

improving. It almost felt like it wrapped around the left side of my torso. The pain reminds me of how my

friend described her shingles pain...but I never get a rash. I have taken Neurontin and Lyrica,

both of which cause extreme dizziness and blurriness (worse than I usually have anyway.)

Hopefully very soon, I will get some answers,
and relief. Thank you.

Are you electrosensitive like I am? See my signature.

Tailz, - I just read the link. I guess I do not know if I am or not?? I do sit at a computer all day (accountant), and am often on my cell phone. I guess I have never noticed that when I am doing either...that my symptoms worsened. How were you finally diagnosed with this?? Blurriness/dizziness are two symptoms that absolutely worsen as soon as I begin to look at my computer.

I get it all the time. Back of my thighs, back of my arms, on my sides, and back.

Haven't found any relief.

I have had the exact symptoms you are describing off and on since my diagnosis (2005). But I also have skin sensitivity throughout my body in certain parts that occurs when clothing touches me.

What you described about jeans is exactly what I have told doctors and others who have asked.

My diagnosis is small nerve fiber neuropathy (diagnosed with a skin biopsy that looks at the small nerve fibers).

Feel free to PM me if you would like!

-David
