In reading so many of the posts here people say they "herxed" when adding something. I never know how to tell what is going on.

My daughter is on IV Rocephine, Zith, Rifampin, Vit. D, Bolouke, Valium, Seroquel, Zoloft, Diflucan, Nystatin, probiotics and assorted other supplements.

She feels horrible most of the time. The only clear herx I could tell was since she started the Rifampin she has been very emotional, low energy and will barely talk. She has been bed ridden for months.

According to other posts, people have herxed on Vit. D, Bolouke and other supplements.

How in the heck do you know what is going on? I'm so confused at this point. All I really know is that 7 months after diagnosis she is still getting worse. She's been hospitalized 4 times, and this morning her Groshang catheter was pulled out when she woke up.

Please help me clarify what is going one - my own Lyme-addled brain is on over-load.

Thanks,
Marla

Hi Marla

The herx feeling is tuff to explain -
It is usually different from person to person-

When I herx I usually just get Killer Migraine
headaches - my worst one lasted 23 solid days
of head squeezing pain-

I got Zero sleep for the whole 23 days -
then one morning the herx just stopped -
Like turning off a light switch-AAhhh

Now For me the herxs usually start in just a few hours from the first dose of a new ABX-
But I can get them at any time -

When I first started treatment I did not
really herx till the 4th month-

Then BAM - I herxes almost contentiously
for a year -
Then I herxed off and on for the next 15 months
or so usually on the Monthly cycle--

After you have been threw a few herxes
you can tell that this is whats happening-
its just the same feeling that you get everytime-

At this point in medical treatment knowledge
there is usually no way to get threw this
with out herxing -

Its a No Pain No Gain type thing-
but some people dont ever herx -
usually men for some reason

If you daughter is taking all the meds you
list at the same time - it alot -

It is Very Important that she drinks as much
water or warm tea as possible-
3 plus gallons if she can handle it-

Myself I drank 15 tea pot of tea Every Day-
5 Gallons a day for over 2 years-
my tea pot never cooled off -

Even with the Really High doses of ABX
that I was taking my liver tests came back
perfectly clean --

You Have to flush All of the Bad stuff out of your body-

Its 16 and a half steps to my bathroom
and I can do it with my eyes closed -

I hope this helps-jay-

From what Ive read about herxes, the herxheimer reaction, usually a "herx" is a case where you feel some of the same symptoms when you're sick, but, feel them more strongly...and the key is...afterwards...you feel better.

As my LLMD told me...its not a herx if you dont feel better afterwards.

I find it easiest to track if its a herx or not by doing daily tracking of good days and bad days.

If you google herxheimer reactions, you'll get a lot of information about how the body reacts to toxins in the body as the result of a kill off.
