While I have lost much weight when I took ABX for years and I also follow a similar diet to the yeast free diet. I also dont eat soy, dairy , gluten or eggs. I am hoping someone could suggest a good weight gain product to add some much needed weight safely. Thanks, Terri

You can find some "clean" nutritional bars (maybe powders, too) through www.mercola.com

Nuts also might be very good. They have some protein and the fat in them is very good. And since they are packed with calories, this might work well for you.

Coconut milk, too. There are organic brands. As long as it is pure and not hydrogenated, coconut oil is also very good for us and coconut milk is high in calories. It's great with chicken broth and curry seasoning as in Senagalese soup.

Amazaki - almond milk protein drink in the refrigerator case of many healthful groceries. Even if with rice syrup, it's awfully sweet, though.

As for powdered mixes, you might check out www.vrp.com

Something with L-carnitine might help you gain muscle and not just fat.

Are there NON-dairy options, as well, if someone is lactose intolerant?

I have lost weight too with the candida diet. You can't eat much. Some good suggestions were made. I was told by my nutritionist that whey protein or rice protein added in coconut milk ( diluted it's very rich) is ok even if you are dairy intolerant. Coconut combats yeast. She also put me on cod liver oil. I also eat tons of nuts and avocados.

I have the same sort of issues with lyme and weight loss.

Here are some healthy options i find helpful:

-Lots of oils(olive, flax, hemp etc.)
-Coconut oil-its very high in calories and fat as well as good for yeast
-avacados-2 to 3 per day. very high in calories and fat. each avacado has about 400 or so calories
-hemp protein powder shakes with almond milk and coconut milk
-almond butter

All of these things are high in calories and fat. The key is to consume as many calories and fat as you can. In order to gain a lb you need to consume 3500 extra calories per week.

I eat 2 or 3 avacodos per day in different ways (salads, wraps, etc). I also make sure to get alot of oils daily and eat lots of almond butter on ezekiel toast

Even with this its still hard for me to gain weight because ive just had trouble keeping it on with the lyme but it does help some.

Hope this helps you

kisses,

I have had same problem of too many food intolerances, little appetite and losing
weight. I had some pain, but low level-I
didn't pay much attention.

Turns out my gall bladder was functioning
at 10% of what it should have been.

My doctor said--so you aren't digesting
anything!

I recently had it removed as there is no other
treatment for this problem.

I am not sure if intolerances will dissapate,
but I am sure my health will improve with
functional digestion.

May be a good idea to get gall bladder checked.

kpa
