Can you post one like this for childrens symptoms too? My youngest daughters son is 2 years old and has been sick for many months. The doctors in kansas have told her 4-5 different diagnosis so far and as usual about 3 weeks after stopping abx he's sick again.
I have sent her all sorts of info. but she is convinced that the doctors know best.
I'm planning on forwarding her this post. Knock on wood she listens.

geneal did a post quite some time ago that listed children's symptoms, it was fairly comprehensive.
Do you know how to use the search engine at this site? It's pretty self explanatory, just click on the word search, then enter something like "childrens symptoms, and you should be good to go.

you might want to indicate that symptoms can be migratory, (knee today, elbow tomorrow).
Also, (and this might be more of a kid thing) impulsive behavior, distinctive changes in behavior, red pinnea of ears, for GI, loss of bladder or bowel control/sensation, changes in digestion (food seems to go through very fast, or just doesn't move.)
FOr those who have the GI issues, it can be reassuring to find it on an info list, particularly since this isn't a subject that anyone wants to talk about!
I would love to see a translation of Dr. Sherr's gastro stuff into everyday speak, as if you don't have a medical dictionary on hand, it can be rough reading.

Pain migrates to different part's of body, is on list, you must have missed it.
I suffered month's with inflammation of breast ( around nipples and further ) never heard this mentioned.
Skin hypersensitive, ( Burning from product's I have been able to use in the past. )
Burning up front and back passage, ( not burning urine ) Forgot, slightest knock on skin, would produce red mark and would last for ages.

I've taken what was on the list and incorporated it here - changing some descriptions into the audiolgical terms.
Aside from loss of hearing, I have (or have experienced) everything on the list.
You can use this list and add to it, or take from it what you want. I could not just let a few terms lie solo with out explanation.
Some of the symptoms are under neurological but I make a case for also having them in the ears section, too, as the ears or brain can be involved in different ways but can produce similar symptoms.
I think adding balance to the heading helps.
EARS/ HEARING / BALANCE
Loss of hearing (by degrees or total)
Hyperacusis (even soft sounds are very painful to ears &/or one's own voice is painfully loud)
Plugged ears
Tinnutus (ringing; buzzing - varying levels or pulses)

I have been doing some research regarding Lyme and signs/symptoms in small children.
I know many of you have small children that you may be concerned about. I believe my youngest child (4yrs old) may have gotten this disease from me.
For All Children
-dizziness -neck pain and stiffness in almost 90% -sore throats -swollen lymph nodes -excessive thirst, -Chest pains in at least 70%, some have palpatations -Sense of air hunger or shortness of breath, dry cough
-abdominal pain in about 50%, can mimic acute appendicitis -sometimes vomiting, heartburn -rashes that come and go, malar rashes, new psoriasis
-migratory arthralgias, joing pain in 50% to 100% -myalgias in over 80%, back ache, morning stiffness, pain at rest, muscle weakness
-frequent illnessses, dark circles under their eyes -intermittent red, hot pinnae of ears -sleep disturbance in over 80%
-Neurological symptoms are protean and can appear AT ANY TIME during the course of infection *hypersensitivity of skin, scalp and hair *Hypersensitivity to noise, light, smell *Alterations of taste *poor balance and coordination *Uncharacteristic behavior outbursts, mood disturbances, depression *social withdrawal *New onset phobias *Oppositional behaviors *Obsessive compulsive disorders *Deterioration in school performance in over 90% *Difficulty with concentration and attention in school with easily distractibility as well as "brain fog" in over 80% *New onset of ADD

Congenital Lyme Disease
* Infants can be infected with Borrelia transpacentally in any stage of pregnancy and/or via mother's breast milk.
* The co-infections: Babesia, Bartonella, Mycoplasma and perhaps even the Ehrilichias can be transmitted transpacentally to the developing fetus.
* Gestational Borreliosis can be associated with repeated miscarriages, fetal death in utero, still births, hydrocephalus, cardiovascual anomalies,
intrauterine growth retardation, neonatal respiratory distress, and maternal toxemia of pregnancy.
* Infants either infected congenitally or from breast milk can have
- Floppiness with poor muscle tone - Irritability - Frequent fevers and illness early in life - Joint sensitivities and body pain - Skin sensitivity - Gastro esophageal reflux - Developmental delays -Learning disabilities and psychiatric problems
* Infants bitten very early in life will have many of the same symptoms - loss and decline in developmental milestones.
I found this to be a pretty inclusive list of signs/symptoms for small children, infants, and those suspected of congenital Lyme.
Sadly, my two children do exhibit many of these symptoms and both have positive bands for Lyme via Igenex diagnostic lab in PALO ALTO, CALIFORNIA. ************************** *************************

Within one week of starting antibiotics I developed a rash that was diagnosed as pityriasis rosea.
Until this, I've never been a rashy person. Since starting antibiotics, rashes crop up, particularly when I switch an antibiotic.
If you read about pityriasis rosea some of the characteristics make it sound like one cause of the rash could be TBIs. Cause is labeled "unknown," (although some suspect viral) no treatment required because it is self-limiting. However, there is some data to indicate antibiotics decrease the length of time one has the rash.
I suspect this particular rash could be related. Emphasis on "suspect."

One thing that I didn't see, but that I have experienced (but I should note the my TBI's are bart and myco, not lyme) and that I have read other people exeriencing, is an inability to sweat.
For me, this would be to the point of passing out from heat exhaustion (on a regular basis, when in my teen years).
I don't know if anyone else mentioned swelling of hands (also one of my symptoms) such that it was difficult/painful to form anything close to a fist.
I can't think of anything else that I or any of my family members have experienced off hand.

Too bad you have to have that added on to this mix.
I get what might be similar rashes from doxycycline. So bad that I cannot use it anymore.
Round, hot, raised a bit and so itchy it's is painful and nearly brings me to my knees. I've tried several times over the course of a year or so.
Each time, hauntingly, in exactly the same places, 8- 13 silver-dollar sized circles appear. I still have a few scars from the last time I tried last November.
the reason I kept trying is that doxy was the only thing that, seemingly magically, reduced hyperacusis to a point that I could go out.
However, mine do not look - or sound like what I see at the link below.
