I have been taking mepron/zith.The zith is not agreeing too well with me.I know they work better together,my question is how well would the mepron work alone for babs?

Mepron needs something else with it.

Call your doctor.

I don't know how long, or what dose you are on Mepron, but it made my daughter very sick.

She has gone back on it after a year off, and she is starting 1/8th tsp.

Good Question.

Probably not a right or wrong answer.

My son could not tolerate Mepron ever day,
so we had him on every other day.

We started with one spoon plus zith for 6 months,
4 month break, then 2tsp Mepron with Zith every day. It was hard on him. He withdrew and was too cranky to talk for just about the whole time. It was hard on us.

Happily, he is not showing any babesia symptoms 18months later.

My daughter tolerated only baby doses of Zith-
250mg liquid every other day. 15yrs old. I don't
think that drs or people believed me that that was her limit, but mom's know. So don't let anyone poo-poo your 1/8 tsp Mepron.

Abx helped my daughter some, but she is responding better to more integrative approach
at this point.

Also, there is Malarone for babesia which is
that some people tolerate more easily than Mepron.

Sorry it has been so hard. Sounds like you are
doing a great job getting your daughter help.

You could probably take Biaxin with it instead, but you definitely need to take one or the other (Zith or Biaxin).

Biaxin may upset your stomach less, or just agree with you better.

Also, you could maybe just reduce your Zith dosage? Ask your doctor before doing that however.
