my dr swore me off epsom salt baths, but sea salt ones are ok.

can anyone advise where to buy large quantities of sea salt?

I was buying 3 lb bags of epsom salt before, does sea salt come like this anywhere?

also, does it have to be pure, etc, and does it contain magnesium? (this is the reason i was told not to take epsom salt baths anymore)

thanks

derek

Sorry I meant :

http://www.saltworks.us/shop/product.asp?idProduct=297

you can buy there even salt for your kitchen and it should be himalayean salt. You will see that it will come up cheaper than going to WHOLE FOOD store where they sell organic salt and is $$$...

Order the bags at once and use it for a long time.

Derek,

I'm sorry I don't have an answer to your question but I'm curious to know why he swore you off Epsom Salts? Is it the Magnesium Sulfate IN the Epsom Salts?

Was it making you feel worse?

When you have a chance...

Best,

thanks for the info, but the link is for epsomsalt which is what i dont want...

looking for sea salt...

yes clarissa, because of the high amount of magnesium content and the possible correlation to BLO, etc.

he thinks it better not to use epsom salt.

they did not make me feel worse.

im going to try the sea salt for the achy body instead i guess just need to find it...

thanks

derek

D,

This is what I came up with on Google:

http://www.cleopatraschoice.com/bulk-dead-sea-salt.php

http://www.amazon.com/Dead-Salt-Bulk-Bath-Salts/dp/B000VB1HWS

http://www.seasaltsuperstore.com/index_shop.php?cPath=22

I might try Sea Salts, too. You never know with my Bart history!

Hope these sites help.

i just called them, they do have dead sea salt, thanks alv.

be that as it may, one cup of their dead sea salt contains 75 GRAMS of magnesium, which is 66% percent LESS than the epsom salt contains!

i doubt my dr will go for either, as both forms are enormous quantities of magnesium.

ill let u know what he says.

thanks again

derek

magnesium chloride 31-35% less concentrated than epsom

.03 ounces to 1 gram

2 cups 16 oz=158.7 GRAMS magnesium

Derek,

Scroll down on this page and it says that the ingredients are 100% dead sea salt.

thanks clarissa.

it seems though that sea salt naturally has that amount of magnesium in it, its not added. its just a natural part of sea salt. the company you listed has the same content as the one i contacted.

still dont know if its good or bad, no one really knows about the relation of mag and bart. wish i knew. ill let u know when dr h writes me back.

thanks

Sorry I changed the link up in the previous post ...I included the himalian link now...I have not called them and ask them about the Magnesium on the himalian bath salts though.

ALSO MAGNESIUM has to do with BLO and I have seen that on my own eksperience....I RELAPSED 3 times...while every body was saying take magnesium I would get worst.I cutt them off and I got better even on LEVAQUIN.

Do a search on Dr Fry ...here and see the link

You could listen to the talk at www.contacttalkradio.com/ "in short order" on July 14

I heard him yeasterday at night...and for me was tru.I do not take magnesium anymore....

yeah i have heard dr frys theory, i tend to believe it.

so i called about the himalayan salts and 2 cups of them contain 681 mg (approx) of magnesium.

so i guess one cup in a bath couldnt be all that bad, around 350 mg per bath. i am unsure how much of that is absorbed or not...

I'm new, but I do know that at mercola.com you can find the himalayan bath salts. Don't know about their mag content, but it is a source at least.

Blessings on your healing journey.

Maybe you could try bathing in clay?

I'm not sure of the mineral content. The lady here is very nice.. you could ask her.

http://www.magneticclay.com/

It's kind of messy but it did make me feel a little better.

Maybe you could try the salt they sell at the pet shops for saltwater fishtanks. You can buy it in five gallon buckets or in smaller containers. It contains the same proportion of magnesium as ordinary seawater.

Maybe I'll buy the sea salt water with the fish to boot. That could make for a fun and interesting bath!! [Big Grin]
