I was one of the many, who tested through Fry Lab and got the result regarding hemobartonella or mycoplasma. The rest of my Fry results were negative.

My question is, if I have Lyme and/or a BLO, would a combination of Rifampin/Doxy, along with HH and Coptis capsules, work for the BLO? I can't take Levaquin, since I've tried that one before, with massive side effects.

Have you read Singleton's book, the Buhner book and Zhang's books. All three of these are full of detailed information and complement each other - although they have many differences, too.

I think you will find some good information regarding your question here.

Do you have a LLMD ? I hope so and, if so, it's best to consult as each person has different stuff going on, even if they have the same dx.

No, I haven't read any of their books, but I suppose I should. I do have an LLMD that I've seen once [Dr. J in SC], and I'm scheduled to see him again on 8/22. I will probably pose this question to him, but I thought I'd throw it out there for the board.

For BLO my LLMD generally uses Rifampin with Doxy. or Zithro. or Levaquin + Doxy.

I'm sure it's fine to take these abx. with Zhang, since the herbs are generally safe and have a low toxicity.

Rifampin, Minocycline (Doxycycline is ok), combined with HH, Coptis is good, as well as Bactrim. If you can tolerate Bactrim, that would be good to add, and Banderol and Cumanda (From Cowden), and Resveratrol (Japanese Knotweed)

Combine all those, and you'll kick the **** out of Bartonella and Lyme. Add GSE or Tindizole or Flagyl if your LLMD feels that acceptable.

You can't probably do all these together, so you'd have to do your homework, but those are the tools I know work best at this time.

Metallic,

I was doing Cumanda along with a Biaxin/Doxy combo, for a period of about 6 months. Cumanda or Samento, haven't seemed to change things much. I dropped off the Cowden herbs after 6 months, in order to try Zhang's to see if they work. Too early to tell, since it's been less than a week. So far though, no changes in severity of symptoms.

About 20% who do the Zhang see absolutely no results. It's an unfortunate number, but the good news is that 60% see a complete remission, with extremely low rate of relapse. Another 20% see improvement, and if they stay the course, often continue to see further results.

Combining treatment with appropriate antibiotics or other therapies increases the success of the treatment.

I think it's also an important distinction to make whether people take herbs that happen to be on Dr. Z's protocol or if they are ON the protocol.

If on the protocol, certain supplements are combined, of course. However, certain other supplements are avoided (i.e. he would not use houttuynia with artemisinin.)

While even those on one of the two lyme protocols (or the 3rd with artemisinin) of Dr. Z's for lyme/TBD, for his patients, there may be individual adjustments, especially with abx.

However, as many LLMDs incorporate some of his fomulas, again, with necessary individual assessment, it is important to distinguish that one would not, then, be on Dr. Z's protocol, just employing some of his formulas - and or some individual support that is also available from a variety of places.

After one reads the book, Dr. Z has a complementary phone consult for questions they may have as they decide which way to go. He also has a web site that is available to patients. His office is in NYC.

www.sinomedresearch.org for the passwords, try "clinic" and then "clinic" again. If this does not work, go to www.hepapro.com and call them for access to the web site.

There is much here to read, some of it is in his book, but I find the book easier to track.

Hope you find what you need.

For those who are interested and seeking alternatives, and my story is not a guarantee to everyone else because we are all different....that said....

I have had wonderful success and made very good progress using Bar 1 by Beyond Balance. I am not cured by any means, have a long way to go, but also did make a lot of progress in less than six months.

Best wishes, CI
