Good LORD. when my mother takes her diflucan, and to a much lesser degree, nystatin, her normal bad vertigo goes NUTS. Like totally unbearably awful. so we have to pulse the diflucan (one pill every two days).
before she started the diflucan a month ago, her doctor said her test results for yeast load were the highest he'd ever seen.
could it have been yeast this whole time causing the vertigo she has been battling for years???

I would say yes. {I am not a doctor!} Yeast is really bad stuff. Make sure her diet is CLEAN.
No white foods, no bread, no sugar, limited fruit [maybe NONE right now]... Eat proteins and dark vegetables.
