Anyone have this? I have been on Ortho-Tricycline Low for a long, long time. My LLMD did not think it would be a good idea to stop this for fear it would throw my horomones into a fit. Despite still taking my pill, I am not having regular periods. If I do have a period, it only lasts for 2-3 days, tops. Currently, I should have started around Tuesday. I have all the fun stuff like cramps, bloating, PMS, but without my period.

i have the same thing going on. For three days before my period i feel terrible,then on day one cramps hit ....then by day three the flow stops....sometimes it will start again, sometimes it wont, it all depends.

Menstrual irregularities are common.
I am getting closer to my 30 day cycle, but have varied from 19 days apart to 35 days.
I just always keep something handy in my purse.
Then I have the on again and off again thing too.
Just wish some of the men could share in this fun.

Thanks! This horomonal stuff is not fun. When my symptoms became unbearable, and lead me to seek help, I missed two periods in a row then started lactating. I hope that never happens again. The pain from lactating was excruciating. I could not fit into any bras, every article of clothing hurt so bad, and wearing a seat belt was next to impossible. I don't have children, so that was a new experience.

Yes, I too have the start and think it is over and then all of sudden it starts again for a day or 2. My cycle was prior to Lyme 30 days exactly, now it is close, about every 25 days. My symptoms can increase during this time and then go back to "lyme normal" during it and then I can really flare the week following it!
Ortho-Tri cyclen is a birth control pill and all birth control pills stop ovulation completely. Your own hormones would have to "take over" if you stopped and with this bacteria, so little can upset it, so I think that is a smart move for now. We woman are unfortunate that hormones play a huge roll in our symtpoms.
Here is what an MD at the following site says about birth control pills and stopping.
The birth control pill works by preventing ovulation. Once you stop taking the pill, the hormones are out of your body quickly, usually within a couple of days. When the hormones are gone your body needs to start again on its own to function. That mean it will start producing follicles again, which eventually lead you to ovulate. Everybody acts differently, some may take a couple of weeks to ovulate, other may take some months, but in general your body should be in "normal mode" within less than two to three months after stopping the pill. So if you now ovulate normally, that means your body is back to its normal rhythm.
