Has anyone had any luck with Lyrica controlling the biting stinging feelings all over their body? This really drives me crazy....... very hard to take.

Also, has anyine taken Lyrica with out weight gain issues?

If you know other soulutions to the biting and stinging please share. Which co-infection do you attribute it to?
I have been treating for four years. First time 2 on ABX and now back on for around 7 months. Will this ever end??

Hey Robi,

So sorry this is happening to you, I know how awful it can be.

When I was going through it, I found that yeast was a contributing factor. With a lot of diet modification, it went away.

The diet mods also helped with the weight gain.

Miss ya,
M

Hello Robi:

What is your diagnosis? Lyme or other co-infections too?

Many on this board as well as LLMDs contribute 'most' nerve pain to either Lyme and/or Bartonella.

I'm responding because nerve pain is my MAJOR symptom. If not for this, I would not even KNOW I have Lyme - although my Igenex W/B certainly supports I am infected [Frown]

OK, what to do? Lyrica vs. Gabapentin? Gabapentin has been VERY useful in reducing and even eliminating the 'shooting' pains. It is only mildly helpful (in my case) at helping the burning and stinging, but everyone is different!

Weight gain? Some report this, personally I have NOT had this problem, perhaps even some weight loss since when feet don't burn as much I am much more active!

Where is most of your stinging? Hands, soles of feet ???

If you self-pay, the gabapentin is MUCH cheaper than Lyrica and can be found even cheaper online.

Curious, do certain activities, movements, positions or even temperature changes increase or lessen your symptoms?

Hope you can get some relief, Kindest, MBB3

I think it would be good to try Lyrica. Lyrica helps my 2 sons and husband with pain. They have not gained any weight on Lyrica.

I tried Lyrica and I gained weight. I'm now on Neurontin. I only take it at night because it makes me too hungry if I take it 2/day.

By the way, Neurontin = Gabapentin.
