I am so frustrated right now! I live in an apartment building, and the mailman shoved my Therlac package (I am assuming that's what's in there) in the mailbox when he probably should have just brought it to my door, and so now my mailbox key won't turn! So my Therelac is STUCK in there!

I am fuming because that stuff was REALLY expensive, and I would be SO mad if it's ruined! The mailboxes are in this foyer area that is like 90 degrees right now, and I'm sure it won't get much cooler until at least 5 hours from now. It is like a sauna in there.

I am even thinking of calling my property manager's emergency line (it is after hours) and having them come out and open the mailbox for me. Do you guys think it will matter? Is this damaging my pills? (they are probiotics, for those that don't know)

Thanks!

I don't know. But, yes, call your apartment's line and tell them you have medicine in the box and the lock won't work to open it.

You do not have to be specific about the name of the med, but say that it continued heat may make it ineffective.

As it's after hours the Theralac folks may not answer phones, but give them a try - or check their website.

good luck.

Okay, I just looked at my Therabiotics receipt, and it shipped on Saturday, USPS Priority.

Does that mean it would be here already, I wonder?

Because it could also be my detox food pads.

I am so indecisive. I just don't want to bother whoever is "on call" if it's not my pills...

Update: I called maintenance, and they came and opened it for me. The guy was really nice and he didn't mind.

But, when I opened up the box, the glass bottle was warm to the touch (not room temp, warm), which kind of worried me.

Do you all think it will still be okay?

I think it will be OK. I order from them all the time and have had it delivered to a hot mailbox. I'm in Southern Missouri.

Seems to not have affected it.

Is this your first time to receive it??

Have you considered calling the company to ask? I'd hate for you to take a month's worth of worthless pills and end up with a disastrous yeast infection.

Yes, it is! It sat there for about 4 1/2 hours though..... [Frown]

Yes, maybe i'll do that, hokie.

That was my fear too, putting all my trust in them than getting yeasties because of it! [bonk]

I know it can stay unrefrigerated for 30 days and still be guaranteed.

Sure, call them! Mine has sat in a hot mailbox way longer than 4 hrs before. I know that for certain.
