A couple of weeks ago I was able to tolerate beer. Now if I drink a sip or think about it, it does weird stuff to my brain.
The other day I smoked half a cigarette (not a smoker anymore), but just to see how I react and I thought I was about to die of brain damage.
Could it be possible brain lesion, had an MRI few months ago was on a very lil dose of doxy for only 3 weeks and the test came normal, but now I think I
have lesions having these brain symptoms for about a month

According to the lyme specialists, beer (any alcohol) and cigarettes can prevent treatment from working.
They see the highest incidence of treatment failure in those who drink &/or smoke.
It's hard to be perfect with "self-care" but the better we can do, the better chance we have of getting better.
Cigarettes are loaded of harsh chemicals (beyond the tobacco) that are very hard on any body. Anyone. Anytime.
I would not worry about the effect you got from a cigarette as implying you have a brain lesion. Cigarettes are poison. Your body did its job in telling you so early on.
After treatment is successfully completed, moderate drinking may be enjoyed on occasion, according to those who have gone through adequate treatment.

I have heard many of the Lyme doctors suggest that smoking sets us back and prevents recovery. I believe I have heard it said that one cigarette delays recovery by as much as 4 months. I think that anyone with LD that truly wants to get well will find that difficult to reach if smoking.

I started back smoking when the cigar craze hit in the nineties and quit a year and a half ago...I felt like I was a car with the brakes dragging. no regrets. don't miss it one bit.
Alcohol is fine in moderation when you're in remission....meaning try a beer or glass of wine and your body will tell you when it's OK.
I'm enjoying a Corona as we speak. (with lyme of course)

a corona, your lucky... German beer is stronger and taste great,... Cant wait to taste that again...
I don't care about smoking, I quit months ago. Just wanted to feel what it was like w/lyme. Did not enjoy it

Tony I also have some dark St Pauli Girl in the fridge.
Corona is what we drink after mowing the lawn because it's refreshing...not a 'sipping beer'.

I tested 3 alocholics and heavy smokers for lyme, 2 of the 3 had it. And both of them, there infection was mild under my scope...meaning in a blood drop there was less then 5 bugs moving.
I dought the cost benefit trade off is worth it, but it appears to directly have a bad effect on bacteria in the body.

Beer(alcohol) makes me terribly sick. If i drink 2-3, they can make me sick for 3 days.
Cigarettes are making me sick too, not a smoker anymore.
I know that alcohol rises cortisol, and cigarettes release adrenaline. Bot substances are stress substances, and help to suppress immune system.

Charlie, you need Weizen beer my friend. Corona is like drinking water.

I agree Tony....German beer is king. I miss it alot. My ex was German...dont really miss her much I have to say haha.
I plan to drink again when I am through with all this. I have earned it. I can handle beer fine whilst on treatment but I stick to the protocol to the letter.
I dont want to be doing all of this any longer than I have to. I gave up smokes a year ago when I got sick. Its a no brainer really.

Exactly ! Hung-over everyday and no memory of any fun - because my body goes straight to hangover on just my own fuel !
