I am still new to everything and awaiting to see my LLMD.

My arms feel like they are burnt and my chest and shoulder feel like little tiny needles are sticking in them. It makes me want to scratch it.

Is this part of Lyme or is this a reaction from the doxy. (200mg 2Xdaily)

Any help is appreciated.

Hey Disc,

Have you been in the sun? Sun exposure and doxy can cause those burning pin sensations. If you are on doxy, stay out of the sun.

when I go out in the sun I always wear a long sleeve t-shirt. Parts that aren't exposed to the sun are burning.
could it be the heat? I do live in Alabama and it is humid.

Is your skin red in the areas affected? some people have had the sun affect them through clothing, but I imagine that it would take a lot of time in the sun.

I have had pins and needle pain and burning but it was while I was on IV Rocephin....so, it could be a symptom acting up too.

Have you had this before?

My skin is not red and the areas that have the pins and needles have not been exposed to the sun in a while.

I started getting this feeling a couple of days ago, but it was very mild, so I just shrugged it off. Then today it was worse and lasted longer.

I was outside today for about 30 mins, with a long sleeve colored t-shirt, hat, and pants. I had thought maybe it was the heat.

I hadn't thought that the sun could have went through my clothes. Has this happened to you before?

Maybe it will go away. It is a very uncomfortable feeling. I will let my LLMD know when I see him on the 16th.

Thanks so much for your help feelfit. I really appreciate it. [Smile]

yes I take doxy and have the burning feeling and my skin is not red anywhere either.

I just started treatment myself and assumed it

just some kinda reaction and not allergic because

i have a history or possible alleriges to

antibiotics so I take benadryl 30 before each

dose. I told my llmd she said it was just part

of my herx with the other things that was

happening
