I have been taking diflucan consistently for 7 months every day. Before testing positive for lyme I was being treated for chronic fatigue syndrome and my CFS doc liberally prescribed this med for me.
Now I am on Biaxin, Mino, and Plaquenil and the yeast is LOVING this combo. I'm doing herbals, probiotics and the candida diet but the yeast is flourishing.It has been a lifelong problem for me anyway.
Is it safe to take diflucan with these abx? I have been off it for a few months as my LLMD did not want me on it at all, but am now taking it again every few days.
Not sure if this is further taxing my liver, or causing more harm than good at this point. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Diflucan is perty hard on the liver-
If it has not helped you in 7 months it dose not seem like it is going to-
Nystatin Powder is Very Effective- its 10X stronger than Nystatin pill form- and it dose NOT enter blood stream so no liver problems--
The only thing is Nystatin Powder HAS to be kept COLD - Remind pharmacy of this when you order it-
If it gets warm its Ruined-
They dont sell the powder often so they usually dont know about cold storage and shipment-Jay-

Mandy, For the treatment of yeast overgrowth, taking diflucan the way you're taking it is probably accomplishing zip, especially since you took it for so long before. Jay is correct to steer your attention to Nystatin. If you do take Nystatin for yeast, you would do well to take it for 3, 4, or 5 months.
