Since starting Mepron last Wednesday, my 4 year old son is now often awake for 2 to 3 hours in the middle of the night. Has anyone had this symptom from mepron?
Thanks,

Not from Mepron, but yes to the symptom.
I don't know how it can be handled in a 4 year old .... Lunesta and Lyrica taken at bedtime takes care of it for me.
Check his room .... I discovered mold in my bed and it was causing a significant number of symptoms. Mepron was the only drug that alleviated the symptoms, so we thought they were from babs. Getting rid of that mattress has gotten rid of what we thought was babesia.
I haven't tested myself to see if the insomnia is gone ... one step at a time. Posted by Katrina (Member # 15236) on :
Yes, The most common side effects are nausea vomiting stomach pain and diarrea followed by anxiety and insomnia.
I have been taking Mepron for 2 months now and the last 4 weeks at very high doses. My doctor has told me that anxiety and insomnia are both side effects of the drug and many people need to take something that helps them sleep or relieve the anxiety. I guess depression is also an effect in a limited number of people.

Ive been having bad insomnia since starting the mepron as well. I didnt know what was causing it but i guess i do now.
I also have been really tired at times and very drowsy. Its caused a bit of a yellow tinting to my vision as well.

Mepron, levaquin and lariam gave me horrible sleep problems.
Severe herxes can also cause insomnia.

I've been wondering why I've had a hard time sleeping lately! It's the Mepron.

Malarone gave me insomnia so instead of doing a full dose I only took one pill in the a.m. and was fine after that or semi-fine with sleep issues.
