I have been diagonized with Lyme/babs and being treated with Mepron+Biaxin+tindamax.
When my bloodwork cameback, ANA (antinuclear antibody) result shows positive.
Does Lyme patients have ANA positive result or any other autoimmune desease going on?
Thanks for your input

I think it's quite common for Lyme patients to have positive ANA. Mine are now positive too and I think it has something to do with the inflammatory process.

I've always had this, but IDs and Rheumatologists say the test means nothing w/o validation of further tests. The titer level is important as well. 1:1.60 is not meaningful I'm told.

Yes, my daughter's was positive for a long time. Just recently tested negative after over two years of treatment.

My husband has a positive ANA. I, on the other hand, don't. I think it can go either way.
My husband also has high AST/ALT (liver enzymes) and he's had this BEFORE going on antibiotics for treatment, so we have no idea what caused that. Though I have heard that supposedly lyme can do that too.

ANA can be postive due to an autoimmune disease, viral, fungal of bacterial infection....
Do I buy that " some people have positive ANA's"
BS I believe that there is a reason behind it, significance, that I don't know.
