Best 2 days I've had in a while today and yesterday. No headaches, dizziness down, muscle aches down, anxiety pretty DL.... but stil last night and again tonight, air hunger and anxiety and the fear of having a heart attack. What is it about this time of night/air hunger that only a xanax will help?

This is a scary feeling... no doubt. Sorry it's gotten you.
May I suggest?
If you lay in bed on your back... get comfortable... and put a warm.. NOT HOT... heating pad on your chest and rest when this comes on... it may help.
I would get so bad that I would hyperventilate.. which had never happened before in my life.
Doing the above ... for reasons unknown.. seemed to help.
A chiropractor had me try it... so it might be something that could make it easier for you? I hope so.

Yes, I have hyperventilated from it, too.
Another thing to try is to focus on breathing out and holding the air out for five counts. Be sure you breathe all the air out.
Then breath in a deep breath.
Sounds like babesia.

I get the samething at times. It hit me pretty bad about two nights ago. Once I layed down on my back I couldnt go to sleep even though I was tired. I felt like I couldnt get enough air and I was scared if I fell asleep that I wouldnt be able to get enough air. I had to take some pretty deep breaths. Does this sound normal with Babesia?

Is air hunger a lyme symptom or a coinfection?

Hi all
Air hunger is a symptom of Babs-
Babs symptoms usually get worse at night-
When I went to Ducks and told them this they looked at me like I was crazy-
One thing you could try is open your Freezer and breath the cold--
My son would get Croup and doing this worked every time
Hope this helps--Jay--

sometimes i drink decaf coffee which helps with the shortness of breath a little.
tincup's heating pad advice is really good for that pressure in my chest feeling.
Hope you find something that helps.

My air hunger is better when I lie down, or at night. I got worried that this meant there was something actually in there, but no, I sound fine through the stethoscope apparently.

Air hunger is one of those things I experienced before I even heard about Lyme.
I'd be walking around for weeks without experiencing the air hunger and then it would hit. Once I was in the grocery store and it hit me. It scared the heck out of me.
It's one of those things that is very different from your normal pattern. Once you discover Lyme and coinfections, and you read the words "breath hunger" you practically scream..."I'm not the only one who has this?!!"
I'm on month 3 of eating Mepron. I think I'm feeling better. There is no breath hunger, the irregular heartbeat is completely gone, and the concentrated lactic acidy feeling at discrete locations inside my muscles is mostly subdued.

Its been so bad for me recently. Ever since i started Mepron and Biaxin its gotten so much worse.
Today is the worst i think its ever been.
For me, the air hunger is feeling like im not getting enough oxegyn. But it also feels like there is something blocking my breathing in my throat. Sort of a tight throat i guess and labored breathing.
Is this what you guys experience?
I have been thinking maybe its related to lymphatics as well. Today ive had this tightness and pain in the area where the jaw meets the ear. I guess those are lymphnodes there?
