I've missed you guys....been verrryyyy sick. I've had 4 surgeries this year. I'm not well at all. Has anyone ever heard of a connection between LD and "compartment syndrome of the lower legs"? This is (in the acute form) something you'd see in an auto accident or crushing accident. In runners, it can be a more chronic (and less "emergent") form. I neither am a runner nor did I (thank the good Lord)have an auto accident, yet I developed this in BOTH legs. If there's anyone out there who has any info I would appreciate it. I am far too sick to do much more than the basic google, which hasn't shown a lyme link yet. Also, anyone know anything about docs at Medical College of GA?

bobby,
i went to NIH med library and found this for you...couldn't read it; small print.
Scand J Plast Reconstr Surg Hand Surg. 2008;42(1):38-42.
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, School of Health Sciences, University of Thessalia, Larissa, Greece.
Compartmental infections of the hand.
`` . . . We have assessed the outcome of such infections in relation to the infecting pathogen . . . .''
` . . . These infections have poor results when treatment is delayed or inadequate, as a result of the extended infection, inadequate drainage or inappropriate antibiotic treatment of certain types of bacteria. . . .''
OBJECTIVE: To report the occurrence of abdominal compartment syndrome (ACS) due to infection with Clostridium difficile.
. . . CONCLUSIONS: C. difficile colitis can cause intra-abdominal hypertension (IAH) and ACS. Rapid diagnosis, early aggressive supportive care, metronidazole and prokinetics are necessary to lower the morbidity and mortality of C. difficile colitis associated with IAH and ACS

I've read that baker's cyst can be frequent with lyme.

PubMed search for''Baker's cysts, lyme'' takes you right to this:
Uncommon synovial cysts in children.

Four children were diagnosed to be suffering from juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA), one child from Lyme Arthritis . . .
. . . Uncommon synovial cysts occur in particular as a complication of arthritis. . . .

Thank you thank you thank you! I am still reading over all the info, but bless you for your replies! Lost count of how many doctors/surgeons couldn't find any reason for any of this....

My husband had surgery on his lower legs for compartment syndrome about 25 years ago. Way before Lyme reared its ugly head.
