Hi Lawrence,

This is a very contraversial subject. Some LLMD's and some lyme victims say yes.. and some say no. You can do a search on this board and find lots of discussions and opinions on this subject.

There is no medical evidence at this point to prove it can be transmitted.

Couples can live in a wooded area, or get a tick at various times and/or one spouses immune system fends off lyme until a later time, thus appearing to look like it is transmitted.

50% of lyme patients never get a rash. There are so many sources in which to contract lyme.

Family pets, hobbies like camping, fishing, golfing and geographic location, etc. can be a factor in contracting lyme. Even live christmas trees can pose a risk.

You can pursue alot of research on this subject, but no proof has been discovered as yet. Because it is found in breast milk and semen does not prove that it can be transmitted.

However, babies with moms that have lyme are born with it. (congenital)

If you are nervous it is best to use precautions.

I myself have have not formed an opinion as yet on this subject. [dizzy]

My LLMD says yes. And since it's related to syphilis, I would agree it is. I just saw a new movie out "Under Our Skin" all about lyme and there are docs out there trying to prove this.
I don't think it matters if you pull out, it's in all your bodily fluids.
