Two weeks ago I was out in my yard barefoot and felt stings on my toes from some type of "bug" only to look down and see nothing. Redness, tenderness, inflammation, burning when I scratched have been very bothersome. I tried Topicort for several days without relief, then Desonate with no relief. 2 days ago, tiny blisters formed and my toes resembled cold sores. I put Blistex on yesterday and now the blisters have gone down but the redness and tenderness, burning are still there. What is this? Any suggestions for treatment?

I had a similar thing happen to me. I have a hookworm infestation in our yard- they burrow into the skin. My pets always have hookworms if they miss even one dose of heartworm pills (even my indoor only cats)- I do year-round since it also does hookworms. In my experience, it was that and totally unrelated to lyme.

It sounds totally unrelated to lyme to me. I would consult a dermatologist.
I've been told not to walk barefoot. Got scabies that way once. (It bore into the bottom of my foot.)

do you have fire ants in your region? I've had them bite me and not even see them.

Fire ants. Not one month ago, my daughter sat down in the grass, and came up screaming. They
left red, blistery type bites, and they took a couple of weeks to clear up. It was extremely painful for her.
