you know i've been thinking about this since i went to the doctor and i've decided it was unprofessional and i don't like it.

when i went in for my back, he was kind of standoffish and that's unlike him. he asked what was wrong and i told him i messed up my back. he said "well kim said you've got a cloud hanging over your head, you're in here so much," and he laughed.

well, i thought how rude of her to say anything and i didn't like him repeating it.

then when i told him i wouldn't take steroids because of lyme, he said "yeah, yeah, i know, you have lyme."

i'm thinking i'm going to change primary docs. his attitude since i've been going to see a lyme doctor and non-belief in lyme just sort of bug me.

maybe i'm just in pain and being grouchy, but i don't want a doctor who dismisses me and i don't want his office staff saying "oh she's in here all the time"....

i don't know. what do you think?

" yeah, yeah, you have Lyme, I know"...

Yeah Yeah, you're an *** and I'm finding someone who cares for his patients. Buh bye

Sorry, those comments would leave me bristling for sure.

I agree that you ned to find a new doc. That was totally unprofessional on both of them.

Get out as fast as you can!

Remember - they are working for you! You are the boss. Would you allow that kind of disrespect if you were their employer?

[Mad] ...that was so wrong!!

WOW... [Eek!] ....I am speechless...
....do you really want him to be a part of your well being???

I would leave but I would also write a letter saying why you are leaving and send one to him...and one to his staff...

maybe by them reading how awful they treated you...maybe they will at least feel a little uncomfortable like you have from them.... [Mad]

sorry this happened to you....
it just makes me crazy to hear this kind of behavior from doctors....

have a better day!!

Ditto! You need a doctor who CARES about his patients, not his ego. He's basically mad because you're believing another dr and not him.

The nurse is way out of line. Ditch 'em!

That would bother me too! [Mad]

However, I would also cc: a copy of the letter to your state medical licensing board.

Include that in your letter.

Now that would make my day. [Smile]

It is in extrememly bad taste and not very professional.

What happened to patient's rights???

Hang in there. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

I experience the same attitude from my arthritis doctor. He doesn't even believe I have lyme, and tells me, even if I did it, has nothing to do with my arthritis. Yeah right! I would stop going to him but he gives me pain medicine so I'm kinda stuck with him. I just can't understand why these doctors are so closed minded when it comes to lyme. Sad, isn't it?

This happened to me once. I told my other doctor how I was treated and he called and scolded the primary doctor who was giving me problems. I know that doesn't help anything, but it felt really good that someone was standing up for me. I would tell your other doctors how you are treated. One might be angry enough to put them in their place.

I would too.I had the same situation and finally found somebody with the stuff that beilive that LYME is cronic.

My pcp was bitten and treated himself until was symtomfree...so he knows what LYME is and is not in my head.He has been there and treated himself based on Dr burrascano guidelines and is symtom free.

Get out of his office ...run....
