Why Does Lyme have to take So much out of you but then not let you sleep an hour because it causes so much anxiety at night time?! :-(

I actually have taken Lyrica and it caused me to swell a lot but can i take that at night? Will that help me to sleep? My doctor wont give me xanex...she wont give me anything

You need sleep to heal. If your doctor won't help you figure out a solution maybe you need another doctor who can help with the sleep and anxiety issues.
I used to have terrible anxiety when I went to bed because I thought I might not wake up. I found out that I had sleep apnea. You might consider getting a sleep study or at least being evaluated to see if you need one.
You can try GABA for anxiety. It is a supplement. A doctor told me about it and it knocks my anxiety out without any side effects that I'm aware of.
I don't know if there are contraindications with this supplement and any meds that you might be taking. Please check with your doctor before taking it.

I can definitely relate to what you are talking about. I would go for days without sleep because of the heart racing or a feeling almost like too much caffeine or even pain.
All sorts of things would keep me from sleeping. But then a switch would turn on and suddenly I was sleeping for LONG periods of time, sometimes for days. My husband couldn't even get me up to get me to eat.
I couldn't find that happy medium and as others are saying, you need the sleep to heal, but you need to get a routine that isn't as extreme as what I'm discussing.
So yes, if your doctor won't prescribe something that will help you get on a decent schedule and work with various meds until you find the right one that will help you, perhaps it's time to seek a different doctor.
Our bodies are fighting hard enough just to get over the hurdles of our illness without adding the sleep or non sleep issues.
Many doctors don't like Xanax since they fear many patients abuse it, but it really is a good med for this type of situation. It helps with the anxiety and relaxes you enough to get to sleep on the rough moments. I don't take it every time and not even daily, but it's a good crutch when you are getting messed up.
I was also given Lyrica for the fibromyalgia type pain but even at low doses and then a lower dose, I still couldn't take that med without massive insonmia, but no two patients respond the same way.
I couldn't take most of the meds they would try me on and you need to find a doctor that will keep trying til you get the right one for YOU.
Basically they are like "band aid" meds until you get enough treatment that you will find you need the med less and less as you progress in the treatment. Good luck.

did your tests you get NO DELTA SLEEP ... so your body is not rested and your body does not heal from injuries, etc. .... MIND DID!

Best help: to bowel tolerance: Magnesium Glycinate or Citrate
and, in addition to B-complex by day, at night: a form of B6, P5P pyridoxal B phosphate.
- Scullcap tincture is fabulous.
Milky Oat Seed extract is wonderful, too.
As magnesium does, L-Taurine will also help calm the NMDA hyperexcitability (from toxins and depletion).
Adrenal support by day . . . and liver support, too.
Be sure to avoid aspartame/nutrasweet/Equal as that is neurotoxic and neuro-excitatory. Same with MSG - google for all its names.
WHAT IT DOES: Scullcap is bitter in taste and cooling in action. It calms the nerves.
RATING: Silver, as not everyone needs to be calmed
SAFETY ISSUES: None known with actual plant. Misidentification with another plant, germander, has been an issue.

Scullcap tincture is an excellent and extremely reliable nervine. It relaxes and strengthens the nervous system in a manner that can be felt within thirty minutes.
It is reliable and safe for treating premenstrual syndrome (PMS) symptoms as they occur.
The highly respected English herbalist David Hoffman tells the story of how he found scullcap the best remedy for PMS when he lived on a commune as the only male with dozens of women.
It is strong enough that it will calm anxiety in fairly serious situations, such as alcohol or drug withdrawal and hysteria. In these cases it needs to be taken every two to three hours, increasing the dosage until you see results.
Based upon a recommendation from herbalist David Winston, I gave scullcap tincture to a patient with Parkinson's disease, and she experienced a moderate reduction of tremors, improving her quality of life.
According to King's American Dispensatory, Scullcap "is tonic, nervine and anti-spasmodic,'' and ``it has proved especially useful in chorea, convulsions, tremors, intermittent fever, neuralgia, and many nervous affections.
In all cases of nervous excitability, restlessness, or wakefulness, attending or following acute or chronic disease, from physical or mental overwork, or from other causes, it may be drunk freely with every expectation of beneficial results.
When its soothing effects have ceased, it does not leave an excitable, irritable condition of the system, as is the case with some other nervines" (Felter and Lloyd, 1898).
Dried scullcap, commonly found in over-the-counter herbal preparations, is basically inert, and therefore useless. The related Chinese herb scute root is more anti-inflammatory and less calming in action.
