Hi all,

I am being treated for Lyme and Babesia with
Mepron + Biaxin + Tindamax for the past 2 months.

I need to move back to my home country for good due to personal reasons. I would like to know if all these ABX medications are available in India.
[Melorone or Mepron, Biaxin etc]

If anyone is in the same boat ? Appreciate any insight into this.

Hey I looked into a lot of drugs overseas and I know india has biaxin and tindamax, they even have a few more drugs in the nitromidaxole class that we don't. I'm not sure about mepron though, it's so expensive some parts of the world don't bother supplying it. But the good news is you can get artesunate in india which is the more powerful phamaceutical of artemisinin. Plus they might have quinimax there which is quinine plus three other alkoloids(another one we don't have here). It's suppose to work better than quinine alone and cause less side effects.

So even if they don't have mepron there are a lot of other options available there that aren't in the U.S. Plus there's the added bonus that they aren't ignorant about using blood smears there because of malaria. You might want to buy schallers book before you head over there that way you can give it to any doctors so they'll understand how long to look at the slides and the stains to use.

This is very interesting... Has anyone tried any of these drugs?

Btw, there is some interesting treatment experimentation going on in India now, in Delhi. People are being injected with stem cells twice a day. One Lyme patient has reported feeling almost 90% better after having it done for three months.

Evidently it helps the immune system and the nerves. According to reports, quadraplagics and paraplagics are getting back nerve function.

Yes, there may be some drugs there that we don't have here and there may be some expermentation going on there, but first you have to find an MD that knows something about Lyme.

I Have a friend here from India that contracted to be a nurse here for 5 years and she didn't even know what Lyme was...............go figure.

Hopefully you can order your meds online from another country so that you can keep self treating. It can be done.

India has lots of companies making generics without a license to do so from American companies owning patents on them. The meds will probably be much cheaper due to this.

Sometimes generics are different than the original products...

I saw a hospital in India on TV that was created by (I think) Harvard. They were top notch & had very modern facilities.

There's a growing industry in medical tourism due to the problems we have here in the USA for health care.

The stem cell approach sound interesting. Is there any references for Lyme & Stem Cell therapy anyone can recommend? I'd like to read about it...

If you find anything effective , let us know .
After 12 years of illeness , I am willing to try anything that is reasonable and that will not kill me .

I have a feeling that you will have more options for babs , since India struggles more with parasites .

India has tons of drugs real cheap. I order most of my antibiotics from an Indian pharmacy.
